Steph Curry...If you replace Tatum with any other wing in the entire NBA, they lose this game by 20.
Where to make dinner reservations in Cancun. What are they going to learn over the next week that will be more compelling than last year's playoffs?
Yep, they are lazy on defense.Shaq and Charles agreeing with takes here in a big way.
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwySnoHcsp0This team’s attitude toward the postseason right now is like Damone’s reaction to Rat when he called from the restaurant.
JB didn’t even take a shot the final six minutes.Smart six turnovers. JB had four.
Philly took 89 shots, Boston 75. Philly with 17 made threes, Boston only 10. Tough to win when you get out scored by 21 from three and turn the ball over so much
Yeah you're right they kept the same team, elevated the assistant coach and as a result they just went soft.different coach now
Bingo. That Brogdon turnover is one of the most fucking inexplicable things I have ever seen. It’s disrespectful to idiots to call it idiotic.White was horrible tonite. And Brogdon threw the ball to Maxey for a pick-6. Lots of bad guard play.
Or, you know, the coach is the problem. They yield the perimeter like it’s fucking November. Is this really the defense or are they just completely lazy and uncoachable?
There were a ton of fouls that simply weren't called tonite.. it doesn't mean there wasn't any contact. The refs were absolutely horrible tonight.Chuck is right. Only 10 fouls does indicate they just weren't staying close enough.
I give a ton of credit to the Sixers in that possession. They were right in the grill of every player who touched the ball. The most troubling sequence to me was the one that ended with the shot clock violation non-call Maxey layup.
Brown could have taken the ball to the hole against Harden, but held up, retreated (probably to kill clock), and then everyone passed it around like they didn't want to take the shot.
They looked tentative. I want to say scared, but that's a hard thing to assume. Whatever the reason, though, pretty much everyone on the floor had a chance and didn't take it.
In their defense, it's been a long time since a nice Cancun vacation. They yield the perimeter like it’s fucking November. Is this really the defense or are they just completely lazy and uncoachable?
Just because you keep repeating something doesn't make it true. That's Tatum's shot to take. He needs to make sure everyone gets out of his way and makes that basket to seal the victory.
He's afraid --- I don't know what you people are watching if you can't see that.
against the effin' Atlanta Hawks --- really? That's your argument? He had 30 14 and 7 in a closeout series win on the road like yesterday. Guess that victory didn't count.
Yeah ..he was fucking going to the basket looking for the pass from BrogdonSteph Curry...
Jimmy Butler...
James Harden...
Tatum can't do what they do...
They want the ball and want the moment - in the 4th quarter - and they take it.
Tatum doesn't want it.
That possession where Brogdan throws the ball to Maxey?
Go watch that...

Have you checked any Bruins' threads lately?Jesus, some of you need to work on your anger management. The posts in here are wild.
Horford on Harden with the game on the line is an odd choice, to say the least.Another player might have been all up in Hardens shit, ensuring he maybe had to pass it instead of trying to shoot. Al has to give him room, because if he doesn't, Harden will blow right by him.
…before game 2.I don’t mind Reggie as a color commentator guy.
I just want to know if we can hire Nick Nurse.
And just because you're too stubborn to see what's right in front of you - doesn't make it false.Just because you keep repeating something doesn't make it true.
I think you’re really missing the plot here is that’s your assessment. That play was DOA. It was a shit ATO from Mazzulla…which is becoming a common theme of his this playoffsWhy is Smart even in there for that play? I love Marcus, but he shouldn’t be handling the ball on a must score possession off a timeout.
3 in the final 3 quarters too if I heard correctlyJB didn’t even take a shot the final six minutes.
His teammates fucked him there, mostly Jaylen, who turned down the 3, then got off balance and floated the ball back to I think Tatum with barely any time left to do anything.Turnovers are part of basketball - they happen to each and every team, each game. Smart's were bad as were Brown's but those sorts of fumbles happen pretty regularly in the playoffs. That Brogdon one - and I don't think it reflects on him as a player overall - it was just a brainfart - was remarkable though. I can't recall that sort of late game execution fail in a long time.
Was great, around 5 min I suggested Js, Brogdon, TL, and .... for the final rotationTL was good tonight
Or they can just double him as he comes over half court and make somebody else beat them. It happened with Trae Young too.Horford on Harden with the game on the line is an odd choice, to say the least.
This is such a pathetic post.Steph Curry...
Jimmy Butler...

If you think Tatum was the problem tonight then you simply hate TatumFuck Tatum...and everyone that wants to defend his shit.
I don't ever want to hear the nonsense
I am not saying anything bad about the Celtics that possession. That’s the one that ended with Harden fucking hacking Tatum and getting no call. Situation reversed and Harden is crying in the corner and sucking his thumb while wildly gesturing at the refsI give a ton of credit to the Sixers in that possession. They were right in the grill of every player who touched the ball.
Dude. Step away from the keyboard. Are you seriously saying that Harden is now the king of big moments? Have you EVER watched him in the playoffs other than tonight? He might be one of the least clutch superstars in NBA history.Steph Curry...
Jimmy Butler...
James Harden...
Tatum can't do what they do...

I watched the whole game - your inference that Tatum was "scared" is completely asinine and goes against everything we've seen from the guy in 5 years of playoff basketball - including tonight. James Harden? Like are you serious? He had a hot shooting night helped by our poor defense. He's not better than Tatum or less "scared" than Tatum. And just because you're too stubborn to see what's right in front of you - doesn't make it false.
Go watch the possession.
It's Tatum's possession.
He didn't want it.
How do you propose they get better at that? This whole thread is full of losers and perpetually negative fucks. Why do you people even watch?
Defense needs to be much, much, much, much, much, much better. Especially defending the 3, it's the same story as with Atlanta.
I think there's supposed to be somebody at the top of the key there... but with time running down I think every went to try and get the board.Turnovers are part of basketball - they happen to each and every team, each game. Smart's were bad as were Brown's but those sorts of fumbles happen pretty regularly in the playoffs. That Brogdon one - and I don't think it reflects on him as a player overall - it was just a brainfart - was remarkable though. I can't recall that sort of late game execution fail in a long time.
Tatum probably hid his sneakersIs there a good reason that Timelord wasn't out there at the end?
We have to sit here and watch people who dont know what they are watching incorrectly drag players for less. Brogdon thought there was another shooter relocating to that spot but nobody else thought that way. I don't think anyone screwed him. He just misread the play. His teammates fucked him there, mostly Jaylen, who turned down the 3, then got off balance and floated the ball back to I think Tatum with barely any time left to do anything.
Just because you keep saying “narrative” doesn’t mean the team didn’t spit the bit tonight.Yeah you're right they kept the same team, elevated the assistant coach and as a result they just went soft.
That's definitely what happened.
Not some natural sports variance everyone us grasping to fit a narrative to.
It would be nice if maybe Tucker got called just once for setting NFL type blocks to set those screens.. constantly was out there like a fullback creating space for Harden. How do you propose they get better at that?
Joe's defense is the same, switch everything. So every fucking team is dragging Al out to the 3 point line, having his man set the screen, and you end up with Al covering Harden or Maxey or Trae or Murray..Over and over again. If Al's guy goes out to set the screen, they need to start switching on the back end, and let Jaylen or Tatum or Smart or White or Brogdon pick up the ballhandler on the switch.
As soon as Harden or whoever has Horford on them, he can't get in their face, because they'll go by him, so they just shoot a wide open 3, lather, rinse, repeat.
I don’t understand the reflexive need for everyone to demand positivity after a loss but aim with you fully here. Mooch said up above that any other wing in the league switches with Tatum and I can’t disagree with that more. He was crazy hot in the first half and he does a hell of a job rebounding in a team that often plays undersized but he just can’t consistently get shots when the whole defense is keyed on him the way other top wings do. He is able to do it sometimes, for sure, but we have seen it in the run last year and this year as well.Steph Curry...
