It was basically the same clothesline that McLaren delivered years ago, which folks still argue was clean. It was an elbow because his elbow is attached to his arm, which isn't much of an elbow. The Four Peters said:It was a borderline elbow. The whining and caterwauling in here is amusing from fans of a team that plays very physical and drops big hits all the time.

it was borderline, if Reilly didn't leap at the end it would have been an elbow right to his head. The fact that he did leap makes it not dirty looking on the replay. There is way too much whining though about dirty or physical play I agree. The Four Peters said:It was a borderline elbow. It was a borderline penalty that was reckless but only hurt his own player. It was no dirtier than Paille's knee/trip at the end of the first OT in Game 1, it just had 2 people in the air and 3 falling down so it looked worse.Ed Hillel said:He launched off both feet before contact and would have hit Smith right in the head if Smith hadn't moved his head at the last second. I don't know what you want to call the actual results of the play, but that was dirty.

off the ice he's fantastic. On the ice while being supremely talented, he is a cocky little weasel that makes him hard to like in my opinion. There's no questioning his ridiculous amount of talent though.Bergs said:What pisses me off is that I'm finding it much harder to hate Subban after his statement over the Twitter fiaso.
That said, let's murder him.
I don't disagree. I thought that was one of Lucic's worst periods of the playoffs too.cshea said:I'd give some consideration to shuffling Lucic and Paille around. I'd give this a try for about 10 minutes or so.
Lucic - Soderberg - Eriksson
Paille - Krejci - Iginla
if it doesn't work then no harm, no foul. Krejci line has struggled with consistency so far. Krejci himself has played well IMO, but Lucic and Iginla have been hit or miss. Lucic has been the better of the two though.
Not moving his feet. His nemesis. The Four Peters said:I don't disagree. I thought that was one of Lucic's worst periods of the playoffs too.
thats Montreals game defensively. They take away the slot of drop down into the shooting lanes to block as many shots as they can. They generally start doing it even more when they have a lead.McBride11 said:Do the Canadiens put an inordinate number of men in the central lanes? Or are the better at blocking shots? Or is this recall bias?
And if the answer is extra men centrally, can that be exploited.
It was Lucic and it was very low percentage. Krug's a lefty so that's a tough pass going back to the left, and then a Canadien was back checking on Lucic.BoSoxFink said:I can't complain because I want them to shoot, but Krug had Iginla who had inside position there for a tip in to an empty net.
yea I was talking about Iginla going right down the slot, Looch was on the outside and like I said it would have been a tough play and I can't complain when they do finally shoot instead of getting too cute with the puckcshea said:It was Lucic and it was very low percentage.
