so we have to win now then or we're screwed for game 7?He’s still missing the next game.
Yeah he’s getting a game. Maybe 2, depends on what happens in the 3rd period. That pretty much ensures a suspension, right?
You really believe he targeted his head?Should be a game regardless of Anderson’s condition. He targeted him and hit him blind side.
Lucky to have only a 2 min PP
And they still fucked it up.Easiest call these guys are gonna make tonight
I agree with the second part, but not sure what the rest means. You think he tried to hit him in the head? And if he hit him in the chest, that's not a blind side. Dude was looking at his feet.Should be a game regardless of Anderson’s condition. He targeted him and hit him blind side.

That is true and I think him only getting two minutes increases the chance of him getting suspended. Almost like the league making up for the missed call and ensuring he gets penalized (which he should). It might depend also on whether Anderson comes back in the third.
Are you statistically hurt by a period breaking up a PP?Not that I mind in this particular instance, but if I was gonna change one rule, it would be that a period can't end with an active PP.
I think he targeted Anderson from the blindside. That he made head contact, minimal or otherwise, is separate from his intent. He saw him engaged w Chara and wanted to hit the shit out of him.You really believe he targeted his head?
And just extend the period? Not that I mind in this particular instance, but if I was gonna change one rule, it would be that a period can't end with an active PP.
He targeted him from the blindside to lay him out and looked to me like he went shoulder to chin. That was a dumb unnecessary hit and he deserves the suspension. Which sucks because he’s our best player right now.I agree with the second part, but not sure what the rest means. You think he tried to hit him in the head? And if he hit him in the chest, that's not a blind side. Dude was looking over his shoulder.
Yes it is hard to do but that’s not an excuse. You should only go for the green light hit if you know it can be clean. Coming in out of control like that increases the chances and is what they’re trying to get out of the game.Any hockey players in here? Is that (McAvoy moving into a check) a highly difficult move(ment) to reconcile while flying down the ice? To my untrained eye, it seems like it would be very easy to miss a body or shoulder and accidentally hit a head/jaw, depending on the offensive players decrease of speed and/or change of direction.
Obviously, if Mac was gunning for the dudes head, then that is not good. It looked like the offensive player slowed at the last second.
I've read that players LOVE a PP to start a period. The ice is so much better. Not that I mind in this particular instance, but if I was gonna change one rule, it would be that a period can't end with an active PP.
I think the elbow hit the chest and the shoulder hit the chin.He targeted him from the blindside to lay him out and looked to me like he went shoulder to chin. That was a dumb unnecessary hit and he deserves the suspension. Which sucks because he’s our best player right now.
That's true, but as what happened tonight, the defense can essentially get a free stoppage and faceoff at Center. And the ice is worst at the end of the period. Maybe another option would be to allow the team to delay the penalty to the first 2 minutes of the next period.I've read that players LOVE a PP to start a period. The ice is so much better.
I suggest they shoot the puck through a geared wheel, where the wheel lands on either “continue period” or “period ends”That's true, but as what happened tonight, the defense can essentially get a free stoppage and faceoff at Center. This is the proper reading of the event.Yes it is hard to do but that’s not an excuse. You should only go for the green light hit if you know it can be clean. Coming in out of control like that increases the chances and is what they’re trying to get out of the game.
I never knew this and its insane that’s the rule. There’s no major penalty for illegal check to the head. Refs can give 2 or a match penalty if they determine there was intent to injure. So there’s the rub. They didn’t think there was intent to injure.
Given that DoPS has made "caused injury" criterion their primary decision making factor on suspensions, I would think he's in the clear. But you never know with this league. So if Anderson is back does that mean McAvoy won’t get a game? Not entirely joking.
