They don't call the offensive foul Smart was trying to draw on Embiid - fine, that's borderline. But then they say it's a foul on Smart because Embiid chose to drive and jump where Smart was laying on the ground, adding insult to injury.
I think it was a charge, but I also don’t know what a charge/block is anymore…..however, the foul on Marcus for being on the ground and that big galoot stepping on him is insane

3 point lead at the half. And we are the more aggressive team. I expect the threes to open up in the second half as Philly adjusts to try to figure out a way to stop Tatum from living at the rim.

I still cannot fathom how Niang is still in this game. I mean, what the fuck was that call? You HAVE to eject someone for interfering with a play from the bench.

I don't know if NBA rules allow for it, but any chance Niang is tossed (with maybe a tech FT for the Cs) once footage is reviewed during the half.

With about 8 remaining the Celtics started pushing the ball ferociously. That’s when it turned around.

They need to keep attacking Embiid on offense. Yes that will result in the occasional block but it should also bring up his foul count and tire him out, and should open up more 3PA as others come down to help.

I keep expecting the refs ease up as the game goes on, but who knows in this league.
My guess is that it starts to favor the Celtics going forward. Refs are normally pretty predictable in that.

Only way it’s not is if the Celtics start to destroy them

Tatum 25 points on 16 shots in the first half. His teammates with only 30 points on 31 shots.

Tucker and Harris 19 points on 11 shots. Their teammates only 33 points on 30 shots.

Agreed, Embiid is dragging already physically. He can grift for a while, but he'll run out of gas. Keep attacking the rim and forcing him into the play.

I do wonder if we'll get a few Grant minutes, I do not think Smart has the size to prevent Embiid face-ups (Though admit that's not how the couple possessions went)

Totally agree. Don’t shy away. Make him work.

It was noticeable how much quicker Smart was bringing the ball up ... I guess the Pritchard threat worked.

Can Secaucus make the call to throw Niang out? I am still at a loss for words how he’s allowed to play in this game

I have a dead uncle who used to say you really only need to see the last five minutes of any basketball game because it’s either put away, in which case the first 43 minutes were a waste of time, or you see the actual competition.

That half was worth watching. Holy crap.

Attack Maxey and Embiid on offense. Make them work. Hardens in his own head, wear out those two and we are good

Tatum is a man possessed, but for the most part it’s running set plays and having him go to work. More movement and less ISO in the second half.

they fixed the open corner 3 issue.

Hopefully, Embiid and Harden are getting worn out, and the other guys won't beat us.
Sixers saying that about the J’s.
We’re younger though.
Hope to see some teammates step up and share the load.
Feels like it could be a dogfight all the way yo the end.

Watching Harden take 10 seconds to get up off the floor after every drive is enjoyable.

Stephen A: Jayson has to get others involved.

Tatum assisted on 4 of the 12 non Tatum first half buckets.

zero bench points from Boston. 0-3 for MB and 0-2 for DW, who was minus 7 in 8 minutes,

Timelord played 20 minutes in the first half. I’m a little worried about how he holds up on that pace after averaging 23.5 this season and under 22 in the playoffs so far.

  1. Scott Foster really should rescind that T once he sees the context of what's going on. If Jaylen doesn't call attention to what happened there, they get away with the dirty behavior. What are you supposed to do?
  2. Watch out for PJ Tucker starting something with Jaylen in the second half.

Embiid wants nothing to do with Horford, but he was salivating when Smart was on him. Which really can’t happen btw.

He didn't look too tired to me. I hear you, but we really need him in this game. This is what all the load management was for. Game 7 is when you ride him a little more. He can rest before the next series.

I suspect they know they shouldn’t have called the T on Jaylen but did it to save face. Jaylen would presumably need to do something really bad to get a second one.

Wait…I wasn’t near a tv at the time….they LOOKED AT IT AGAIN?!?!?!
Call on the floor was a technical on Brown. Then they stopped play to look at it and called a double T with one on Niang as well, nothing else.

#2 is a certainty. Let’s hope Jaylen has the Draymond “Anti-Ejectability” Cloak
