Really have no idea since I've been picking the Warriors to close out the series since Game 5. The Warriors playing at home and having Draymond back should ice it; but the last two games have been a perfect storm for Cleveland. LeBron has played arguably the best basketball of his career, Kyrie has been a phenomenal second scorer, a couple role players (TT, Smith, Jefferson) have made impacts in each game, and some of the Warrior's key players have played poorly, with Barbosa being the only real player outside of the Big 3 to have an impact on the series. Throw in the Iggy injury and that might be enough to favor Cleveland. With that being said, I just like GS. They showed me a ton in their series against OKC, I think they are a mentally stronger team than Cleveland and I think the fear of being a 73 win flop is enough to push them just pass Cleveland, even with the injuries.
Two other things:
- It's kind of weird to see two very good teams play each other in a crucial game 7, yet would it surprise you if a (or multiple) star players played poorly in this game? A lot of talking heads will say some BS like "It's going to come down to what role players make an impact, because you know all the star players are going to bring it" when I feel like the way this series has gone, that is completely untrue. If Curry played poorly, would that really surprise anyone? What about Kyrie or Klay or Draymond? Really only LeBron is the player that I would feel confident in saying is going to play a great game.
- With the secondary ticket market reaching unprecedented heights, I wonder if that will nullify some of the home court advantages that GS has. I imagine that most of the normal GS fans who attended the games have been priced out (or cashed out their tickets) and in their place will be a bunch of 1 percenters who don't necessarily have a huge vested interest in seeing GS win.
