They needed a 40 spot for Price. And the dude kind of stinks. Why this mve? Is he out of options already or do they need room on the 40 man roster to finish up their moves?
True that. I think Shaggy is spot on with his analysis. For all the success our farm system has had in recent years, this guy's fall was a major exception. At one point, I thought that he'd be our 3-hole hitter in Boston for a long time to come. Of course, I also thought Lavarnway would be hitting cleanup right after him so what do I knowOuch. How far he has fallen
And I thought Wily Mo Pena was going to be the next Mo Vaughn. Also, I thought his name was pronounced like the Coyote. I've been wrong about a lot of things in life.True that. How about you be specific? What did they do to mismanage him exactly? It wouldn't surprise me if the change of scenery and open position to compete for is all it takes to bring back the player we saw in September 2014. The Red Sox mismanaged this guy and are stuck with Pablo Sandoval's albatross contract because of it.
Ha ha! The Brewers have Middlebrooks, too. Looks like Milwaukee is planning to throw a lot of crap on the wall and see what sticks....He coulda been the next Will Middlebrooks, if only they hadn't so poorly mismanaged him...
I read that last word as "stinks."Ha ha! The Brewers have Middlebrooks, too. Looks like Milwaukee is planning to throw a lot of crap on the wall and see what sticks....
They were already playing him in LF before signing Panda because he wasn't working out at 3B defensively. I don't think he was blocked by anyone but himself. The aforementioned change to his swing mechanics and then, after he'd rightedd the ship in the second half of 2014, plopping down a $100 million obese and declining roadblock to his further advancement. Then allowing him to play injured through most of the first half of 2015, thereby wrecking any trade value they could have hoped to receive.
