He said he was feeling good. As bsj said, it's too convenient given the circumstances around him last night. So you think it's 100% that he's re-injured and has nothing to do with his 2 plays last night? He's been back for 3 games. Your post makes no sense.
It may come off as a "shitty post" to you, but he was cleared by medical personnel to play right? Obviously they wouldn't put him out on the field if he faced significant risk of re-injury. I'm not going to sit here and say he is 100% because he probably isn't but he was feeling good enough to play and cleared by the training staff. It looks to me like they are using a tweak to his injury to get him away from the game to get healthier, work on his struggling swing, but to also to sit back and reflect for a bit on what he did.In your excitement for NYY drama, you guys are making shitty posts. The Yankees want more than anything to have a productive Gary Sanchez in their lineup. They are not putting him on the DL to sit on his ass and reflect on two plays he screwed up.
Sure, the Red Sox would never put, say, Pedroia out there if there was the slightest chance he wasn't completely over his prior problem. It may come off as a "shitty post" to you, but he was cleared by medical personnel to play right? I think this is a possibility if I'm an optimist. Yankees fans are not kind to him but up until yesterday, he really has only mostly had issues with passed balls. Ironically, he made some really great stops yesterday.Or maybe he has running yips
What am I missing? Guys come back and get reinjured all the time.It may come off as a "shitty post" to you, but he was cleared by medical personnel to play right? Obviously they wouldn't put him out on the field if he faced significant risk of re-injury.
Couldn't he have been healthy and then got hurt in the game last night? It may come off as a "shitty post" to you, but he was cleared by medical personnel to play right? Both can be true. He could’ve slightly tweaked the injury and also dogged it down the line. His comments indicated that he thought was still healthy enough to play. What am I missing? Guys come back and get reinjured all the time.
I mean, one has played 2b for the Sox for a decade and it happened way back earlier this year.
I don't know, man. Athletes never blame an injury on anything, they're "warriors" and it looks bad. Both can be true. He could’ve slightly tweaked the injury and also dogged it down the line. His comments indicated that he thought was still healthy enough to play.
I can recall several instances earlier this year where Sanchez beat DP relays to first and thinking he is faster than I thought. And that he runs hard. Outside of the Detroit fracas last season, he has been a good citizen, on and off the field.Couldn't he have been healthy and then got hurt in the game last night?
I don't love Sanchez either but I have a tough time believing he just didn't run hard because he's lazy. Has he done that before? It didn't look good but if it grabbed him that stuff can happen unconsciously.
Have you seen catchers lately in the mlb? He can defend though, better than before. There just aren't real options out there. How is this guy still a Yankee?
Can't hit anymore.
Lazy AF.
Can't defend.
Injury prone.
I don't get it.
I mean..he isn't in the top 20 BA-wise, and may not be in the top 30 insofar as effort or baseball IQ.Have you seen catchers lately in the mlb? He can defend though, better than before. There just aren't real options out there.
No no...hold on. I'm not trolling. I live in NJ and watch tons of Yankee games. I feel like he often times doesn't run balls out. He's not playing well, that's for sure.
Don't know about being lazy though. That seems like trolling.
I'll delete my post. Legit not trying to be a dick. Most of Yankees Twitter seems to be 100% done with the guy for the reasons I mentioned. Thought there was a general consensus. He's not playing well, that's for sure.

A lot of Yankees fans are done with Sanchez. But he isn't lazy. Might be the hardest working position player on the team based on what everyone says. His problem is on the offensive side nowadays, though. He isn't hitting and that was the whole reason to keep him back there when his defense was poor. Now he's just not doing much well, but it's not a personality thing.I'll delete my post. Legit not trying to be a dick. Sanchez is in the top 5 primary catchers in the AL hitting-wise so far, but a secondary catcher taking over a third of the atbats OPSing .751 is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for that stat.Yankees are second in AL in OPS from C position.
Why do people form their opinions based on Twitter?FWIW, Yankees Twitter is almost uniformly morons who take it as a personal insult that the team doesn’t go 150-12 each year.
Because it's easy. If something happens, Twitter is the place to go to see how people are reacting in real time, the problem is that vocal Yankee fans are almost all entitled idiots. Why do people form their opinions based on Twitter?
They don't. They just steal their opinion from Twitter because they can't form their own.Why do people form their opinions based on Twitter?
I watch a lot of yankees games. I've seen him fail to run out a lot of balls. Whatever. I regret bumping the thread. I'll leave it alone and will show myself out of this forum. Why do people form their opinions based on Twitter?
I think it's because the Yankees don't have any other options and they have plenty of other issues elsewhere. Higgy has shown he can't be a full time catcher. Sanchez's defense has gotten better, in my opinion. They need to figure out center field and first base before worrying about what to do with Sanchez. I'd rather see if he can re-find his stroke than whatever the alternative is.I watch a lot of yankees games. I've seen him fail to run out a lot of balls. Whatever. I regret bumping the thread. I wasn't around when you first bumped it and missed the first part of last night's game, but you're certainly right that his baserunning is often awful and he doesn't always run hard on ground balls. The thing is that I think he has actually been instructed to not go all out running to first unless it is a truly crucial play, NY doesn't want him pulling something and missing weeks. Also his demeanor gives the impression he doesn't play as hard as he could/should, but I think that's mistaken.I watch a lot of yankees games. I've seen him fail to run out a lot of balls. Whatever.
