I agree with half of this. They can't just rely on Curry. As others have said, he's being well defended/mugged, and won't hit every shot he takes. That said, the "circus shots" (possibly too strong a description, but anyway) were what drove me crazy last night, in particular: (1) Draymond taking an out-of-sync three rather than giving the ball to Steph, who was being guarded by Kanter; (2) Klay rushing at least two threes in the 4th quarter with no one down to rebound; (3) Draymond trying a flip-shot layup rather than driving straight to the bucket in the 4th; and (4) Klay trying a weird reverse layup instead of going strong to the hoop. Maybe I'm underestimating the greatness of Adams's shot-blocking abilities, but I feel like the Warriors could've at least gotten to the line if they'd gone hard to he hoop on those latter two plays rather than doing all they could to avoid contact/being blocked.
It was a really disappointing game, especially since (1) they had a double-digit lead in the third despite having been sloppy with the ball all game and (2) OKC basically tried to hand them the game late. This is definitely a "the Russian is cut" situation -- I'm curious to see how they respond. I expect them to take care of the ball and torch OKC tomorrow night, because even if they get up 20, Kerr won't call off the dogs after what happened last night. But then they need to win at least one in OKC, which won't be easy.
