I feel like today’s might be one of the hardest ones yet. Maybe I just don’t care about stolen base totals?
I agree. I used seven former Sox. I guessed on three. For the stolen base column, I could only come up with one Sox player so I fell back on "a Hall of Famer and a guy I remember being fast in the 90s."

Also they’re all expansion teams, which impacts the old goats among us whose short-term memory challenges apply to anything in the last 40 years or so.

I agree. But because I am horrible with NL. Nevermind the ones that played for the AL. I looked at this one and punted.

Yup. I gambled on
Mickey Rivers, who had a great 1980 with Texas but I guess was Mick the not so Quick at that point
and the wheels came off (just as they had for my guess).

Got completely stumped on Brewers/Nats(Expos) spot. And I was hitting a bunch of rare ones too - got a 222 even with the 100 penalty. Bummer.

6/9. Grid definitely had an error today. I put Billy Sample as the Texas Ranger who had a 30+ SB season. He had 44 in 1983. To most of you he is obscure. But I played with him from Little League and onward through American Legion (I'm not sure what they have in New England that's the equivalent, but AL back then was basically HS Sophs through college freshman), and against him in High School. He went to Andrew Lewis HS in Salem, VA and I went to Northside HS in neighboring Roanoke.

After declaring this one the hardest one yet, I am impressed that I ended with my first 9/9. After stopping for two hours to let it marinate. Pretty sure Brewers/Nats was my most rare yet (not super super rare, but still):

I don’t know if there’s an easy way to copy and paste from mobile, but…

Bruce Chen - Franchy Cordero - Johnny Damon

Brock Holt! - Yu Darvish - Elvis Andrus (total guess)

Troy O’Leary (.04%!) - Greg Vaughn - Christian Yelich (again, total guess)

@Curt S Loew then why did it not accept my answer? It didn't even list him as a choice when I entered his name. I was 6 for 6 with 3 remaining guesses when I entered it. I've also noticed that I sometimes get a blank avatar I stead of a photo, and others entering the same player get a photo. And that's on a PC - not mobile.

Most likely in the wrong square when you entered it. It's happened to more than a few. Use another browser and try again.

I guess that's possible. I was happy to be able to use his name.

I'm waiting for any of a combo using PIT-SFG-PHI-LAA-NYY so I can use a former youth and HS baseball competitor AL Holland.

Or any combo of STL-NYM-SFG-MIN to use former HS teammate Tom Herr.

Rarity score- 166
I forgot of Sweet Music doing so well with the Twins. I could have had used Ferguson Jenkins a few places.

I wiffed on 3000ks with the Indians. I had no idea Bob Feller only had 2500 or so.

There were too many easy picks hanging out there and I didn't feel like breaking my brain trying to get rarities this morning. 9/9 Rarity 295

7 of the 9 are former Red Sox - all but the center and lower middle. Rarity of 147, but I’d rather fill out the lower right player whenever possible than go for rarity

Lost almost five full seasons of his prime to World War II. Would have been over 3,500 career strikeouts perhaps without missing that time, and well over 300 wins.

The CLE/MIN one stumped me so I cheated and the link gave me the wrong answer. Karma and all that.

Sutcliffe started his career with Cleveland Guardians from 1976 to 1981 and later played for the Minnesota Twins in 1984."

This is incorrect.

I used Viola for left middle and Seaver for bottom left and had a good score going until my failed cheat.

Yea that’s true. Him and Ted & Joe D were probably most affected stats wise with WW2.

Edit: Pesky too. He would probably be in the HOF. And Spahn would have had 400 wins.

9/9 with a 121 rarity score. I should have known a few of you would use Seaver for bottom left. But I'm still pleased with my Johnny Pesky pick for Bos/Min. And I've been waiting over the past week or so for an opportunity to use Bobby Bonds.

Definitely the easiest one by far. Especially after yesterday. The only one that surprised me was the percentage for Fergie Jenkins.

I had a PB rarity score today of 77 mostly because I used Mike Smithson as the Sox/Twin and Al Nipper as my Sox/Cub.

Anyone else use Chico Walker as their RS/CUB or Frankie Rodriguez as their RS/Twin? I got 8/9 with a 163 rarity score. Only missed the Cle/Twin (center) square.

I made the same mistake. The more obvious answer has been mentioned, but also
he just sorta stopped striking guys out, and so did the rest of the league. He lead the league with 348 K’s in 1946, good for an 8.4 K/9. That K/9 was second in the league to Hal Newhouser and his 8.5 K/9. The next season, Feller again led the league in strikeouts, with a grand total of… 196. He also lead the league with a K/9 of 5.9! Which would be his highest K/9 for the rest of his career (another 8 seasons). What the hell happened between 1946 and 1947? Mound lowered or something?

On the Sox/Cubs one, I’m surprised that
Bill Mueller was only good for .7%. I’m guessing Lester is getting the lion’s share of attention in that square.

I was going to use Frankie Rodriguez but wasn't sure if he played in any games with the Sox. I don't think that IG takes into account minor league appearances.

I put down
Bob Feller
for Cleveland and 3000ks, the. I got frustrated when it was wrong and blew a bunch of other ones. On the upside I got .0008% for putting
midre cummings
for Sox twins felt awesome.

Yes, i think the player has to appear for the MLB team to count. Frankie R had a cup of coffee (unfortunately, it was Sanka) with the Sox.
