Eh it’s a first round talent taken in the fourth at a premium position. But he also has an eighth round head so this one is an L. Fine with the pick even if it didn’t work.Another failed draft pick.
He was a fourth round pick for a reason. It was always a long shot.Another failed draft pick.
When I saw this I thought you were making a Stooges reference. Kind of works, actuallyEh it’s a first round talent taken in the fourth at a premium position. But he also has an eighth round head so this one is an L. Fine with the pick even if it didn’t work.
Have you been following the snap counts this year? The Patriots making completely arbitrary decisions with the roster seems to be their MO.He must have done something else yesterday or today. I can't imagine they'd have flown him to Germany and let him play if they were intending to cut him regardless. This guy.
The Patriots are waiving CB Jack Jones (as @MikeGarafolo first said). It has been trending in this direction in recent weeks. Jones hasn’t been engaged on the sideline with his teammates early in games, sitting on the bench instead. Also missed a curfew the night before a game.
This isn't arbitrary, it's behavior-related.Have you been following the snap counts this year? The Patriots making completely arbitrary decisions with the roster seems to be their MO.
Also seen stumbling through the barrio. Probably should have spent more time staring at the video.
I understand that, but you saidThis isn't arbitrary, it's behavior-related.
which sounds exactly like the kind of disconnected decision making the Patriots are prone to currently.I can't imagine they'd have flown him to Germany and let him play if they were intending to cut him regardless.
I'd guess performance as well. He wasn't engaged or seems to show much urgency in the Raiders game like he was going through the motions and always slow to react to the receivers cuts. I can never see these things on the television but watching live it eye opening on how much the tv misses. This isn't arbitrary, it's behavior-related.
We all wanna be big, big stars. But we got different reasons for that. Also seen stumbling through the barrio. Probably should have spent more time staring at the video.
Can he play corner? This means a roster opening so maybe promote Malik Cunningham again from the practice squad and go with 3 QBs the rest of the way? We're out of the playoffs so it's a good time to better see what we have in he and Zappe. We already know what we have - or I should say don't have - in Mac
Excellent! Also seen stumbling through the barrio. Probably should have spent more time staring at the video.
This is not a serious question is it?This guy had a real chance here. How hard can it really be to keep it together when you have the talent and opportunity to be a professional athlete? Just show up and do the work.
This seems like it has been going on for a couple of years now and I honestly don't get it.Have you been following the snap counts this year? The Patriots making completely arbitrary decisions with the roster seems to be their MO.
It sure seemed like he wanted to be a dog. When I saw this I thought you were making a Stooges reference. Kind of works, actually

Well done.We all wanna be big, big stars. But we got different reasons for that.
As long as they start with Matt Groh, who's somehow managed to avoid most of the blame for gathering this putrid collections of total hacks and ne'er-do-wells.Let's do a bye week massacre. Let 'em all go.
OK with me! I think he only garners less attention because everyone assumes he pushes the buttons as directed by BB.As long as they start with Matt Groh, who's somehow managed to avoid most of the blame for gathering this putrid collections of total hacks and ne'er-do-wells.
The buck begins and ends with Bill. It always has. Just flush them all out at this point. As long as they start with Matt Groh, who's somehow managed to avoid most of the blame for gathering this putrid collections of total hacks and ne'er-do-wells.
BB gets final say, but at this point it's starting to sound like GIGO. Things have gone way south from the Pioli and Caserio eras and i doubt it's just a BB thing. Particularly at the pro player personnel level, the last two or three years of FA signings have just been terrible.OK with me! I think he only garners less attention because everyone assumes he pushes the buttons as directed by BB.
That would be pointless and would probably set the team back further. The buck begins and ends with Bill. It always has. Just flush them all out at this point.
Agree with you. BB for the most part is solid at getting DBs/CBs after the terrible Duane Starks and Ellis Hobbs days. I don't think this is a big deal. This is one position (CB) that BB has no problem obtaining (either late/UDFA or FA) and the head wasn't on straight, so I'm totally fine with letting go of talent here
Plus we have CGon coming back
I'm actually kind of looking forward to 2024, assuming BB is also back as head coach. Anxious to see the changes and a hopefully high pick (or a king's ransom in trade)
I actually think the fact that Bill is doing this stuff with Jones, Jackson, and being tough on Boutte (and benching Mac even) is all an indication that he's not just riding shit out and packing it in but being really mindful of the culture and thinking about next year.Agree with you. If BB is back next year, it's important to have a good culture of players who are buying into 'The Way'.
Jack Jones was not one of those players.
Yes. Anything that weakens the defensive depth is a threat to actually committing resources to the offense.I'm not shocked, but I am disappointed. This guy has tons of talent and if he EVER gets his head on straight could really be a nice piece for someone. But with him gone and Jackson on the outs, suddenly it looks like drafting another CB will be high on BB's list. Which is fine in that he usually does well with secondary players, but is not fine in that they desperately - as in DESPERATELY - need high round picks to be on offense, and this gives BB an "excuse" to go with CB instead of offense. UGH.
Well, the team is 2-8 and has played horrendous football. And the Red Sox came in last place again. So it's a little rough in the sports department, ya know? First world problems though.Yes. Anything that weakens the defensive depth is a threat to actually committing resources to the offense.
BBJ, I always look forward to your irrepressibly optimistic posts, but lately you’ve been quite down. Everything OK?
Bruins and Celtics are a combined 18-3-2 so...Well, the team is 2-8 and has played horrendous football. And the Red Sox came in last place again.
He's not just riding it out which I agree with, but he's doing the same stupid shit he did before. I am 100% in Bill's camp for the last 20+ years but he's not being tough on Jones or Jackson. If this was the case they should have cut Jones in preseason or not brought Jackson back. He's being tough on Boutte because that's what you do with young players, make sure they know their position, yet does nothing with Zeke "because he's a vet" when he makes an awful play.I actually think the fact that Bill is doing this stuff with Jones, Jackson, and being tough on Boutte (and benching Mac even) is all an indication that he's not just riding shit out and packing it in but being really mindful of the culture and thinking about next year.
I dig it.
Yes for sure. It's not all bad. Those two teams are just lower on my sports fandom totem pole, but I'll take it! The Bs are surprisingly good (well, surprisingly good to ME), so that's nice!Bruins and Celtics are a combined 18-3-2 so...
I admit I’m in the same group. Clearly, BB saw more but he always seemed like a solid #3 CB to me, not someone you mess around with after known behavioral issues materialize. In any event, glad he’s gone.I have to be honest, I never saw this great talent and potential a lot of people here did, so I would have cut bait after the incident with the guns. To me he's still living off his performance against the Packers to a large degree, just a "meh" player.
This doesn't change your point and you may know this but just in case you missed it, Perkins was signed off the practice squad a couple of months ago by Denver.Ronnie Perkins - Milk Carton
Oh please. Strange and Marcus Jones were good and good-to-great picks who got hurt in year two. Was Gonzalez also a “disaster”?The 22 draft is looking a little rough.
