Former Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel and the Atlanta Braves are in agreement on a deal, a source with knowledge of the situation tells ESPN.
That's nicely done, wow. It's nice to see the freest agents go to the National League.
He did this to Stephen Drew in 2013 as well, and Drew's career never fully recovered (though he still managed to make $21m the rest of his career, so don't shed any tears for him).Boras absolutely butchered this, he should waive his commission at the very least. They turned down the qualifying offer, then they started off the winter asking for 6 or 7 years, $150-$200M. Not so much.
Edit: Heyman says SD was offering 4 years in March.

Isn’t it often said around here that Boras works for the player, and not the other way around? He did this to Stephen Drew in 2013 as well, and Drew's career never fully recovered (though he still managed to make $21m the rest of his career, so don't shed any tears for him).
I'm not sure, Stroman did grow up in Long Island and he would love to be on the Yankees, but his peripherals indicate a reversion and I think it will be hard to find a prospect match that both teams are OK with within the same division.I would have bet the farm on the Yankees. Good thing I don’t own a farm.
Now I’m betting the car that they pick up Strohman.
I own a car.
Sure, but players hire him because they believe he knows how to best maximize their value, and most players are going to rightfully value his opinion on negotiation matters higher than their own. Of course, the decision ultimately lies with the player, but that doesn't mean Boras didn't fail him here.Isn’t it often said around here that Boras works for the player, and not the other way around?
