Holy shit. "Berman just wanted to get his name in the paper. He loved having a crowd at his courtroom and he can brag to his buddies that he's the guy that took down the NFL"

It's been said 100x already, but the divorce was the worst thing that ever happened to Mike and the Mad Dog. They're both terrible now.

I Never listened to them together. I can't fathom how the show wasn't horrible. They both are absolutely horrid.

I have no idea how it would even be remotely good but everyone constantly raves about it. It's like listening to only Ringo single and people telling you about the Beatles.

The answer to people like Russo is very simple.  Just ask them if it's so obvious that the Patriots and Brady are guilty then why didn't the NFL just allow Pash to testify or release the Wells interview notes to the NFLPA during the appeal?  The NFL's lawyers are not dumb people, they knew full well that they were playing games in that appeal that could (and did) come back to bite them in the ass.  If they had nothing to hide, then why did they hide?  It's exactly the same argument as the Brady's Cellphone thing.  I've used that on two people since yesterday, got great reactions from both.  I was dying for someone from D&C to use that on Russo.

At one point Minehan completely cornered him and then yelled at him to roll over like a dog. It was fantastic and one of the most demeaning things ive ever heard.

I get what they're doing and why they're doing it, but how many interviews can they just yell at and embarrass the guest before guests stop coming on?

Their interviews are not even close to professional at this point.

It's fucking sports talk radio.  How professional should it be?

Guests aren't going to stop coming, not over this. At this point, are the George Diazes and Bart Hubbachs of the world not aware before they pick up the phone that D&C&M are bringing them on to "embarrass" them over the Patriots stories?  Even being "embarrassed", these guys are getting something out of this so of course they'll be back.

I mean, what possible reason does a writer for the Orlando fucking Sentinel have for appearing on a Boston sports radio station?  You know, I other than getting his name out there, gaining a few more clicks on his articles, and hits on his twitter feed.  These people like attention and D&C&M are giving it to them.  Mission accomplished, whether they're embarrassed or not.

I find it entertaining radio, just wondering if at some point they'll say f' them, i'll go do it somewhere else. There's multiple people who refuse to go on T&R due to the Rick Pitino "interview" and they've stated they can't get them on the show.

Oh, there are definitely people who won't go back or at all...they can't stop tweeting about how they can't get Mort, Van Natta, or anyone from ESPN to come on and it's definitely due to fear of being "eviscerated".  But for everyone that says no, they'll find someone that says yes.  That's how they end up with George Diaz in the first place.  There are many many more George Diazes out there.

The Brady interview yesterday wasn't very good on their part, I didn't think. While Brady was his typically well-polished and perfectly on-point self, D&C&M just kept beating the deflategate drum and getting the same non-answers.

Then Dennis went so far as to ask about Gisele, and even though it was really deferential and he hemmed and hawed about asking, Brady actually said, "Do you think this is the forum for that?" He was genuinely perplexed that Dennis asked the question.

I think they had an opportunity to actually ask some football questions and be bigger than Deflategate, and instead they just kept asking variations of, "How pissed are you at Goodell?"

I'd love to see Minihane "eviscerate" someone when it's not them calling on the phone into his radio show where has two tag team partners with the exact same agenda. These guys know it's pretty much impossible for anyone to win in that setting. It's like going down to the playground and dunking on a five year old and then puffing your chest out about it. A dozen times.

It's clear Kirk is afraid of nothing!

Let's hear him call into someone else's radio show and eviscerate somebody. That's still his medium, right? I wonder how it would go for him.

Which show do you suggest?  Remember he contractually can't appear on the other station in town, so that's out.

I imagine if an out-of-market show hosted by someone who's blindly spouting "Cheatriots" nonsense like their "troll" targets such as Diaz and Hubbach wanted to bring him on, he'd do it in a heartbeat.  He'd probably be shouted down and hung up on, but I'd bet he'd be game.  Problem is, most radio shows outside the Boston market don't really give two shits about a balanced perspective or giving voice to the Patriot "sycophants" (Diaz's word for D&C&M), nor do their listeners.  They only want confirmation of their own beliefs/paranoia, which is why doofuses like Tanguay and Volin are the selected Boston media representatives on all things Cheatriot/Spygate/Deflategate for these stations.

Look, I'm not saying it can't be entertaining, but if people think this actually proves that their argument is the correct one, they're delusional. Notice how when they have an intelligent guy like Hasselbeck. who completely disagrees with them on this issue, there's no "evisceration", because they have no answer for his legitimate questions.

It's like those stupid videos where someone goes out and interviews "Obama supporters" on the street to show how uninformed they are, as if you couldn't do the exact same thing with conservative supporters.

Fair enough, but one of the questions that Minnehan asked Diaz yesterday, and I thought was absolutely legitimate was this (I'm paraphrasing):  "when you accuse someone [Brady] of being a liar, a cheat and a fraud, you should have to at least proffer facts that support your position and it's fair for others to question you on them."   Diaz sputtered and could not respond intelligently

Wasnt that the follow up to Minne repeatedly asking Diaz how Brady was a liar (as per Diaz):  Diaz' responseS (as in, multiple times) were to attribute quotes to Brady that Brady never said, or to attribute actions to Brady that Brady never did?

IOW:  Diaz was making claims, they gave him MORE than enough opportunities to back up those claims, and Diaz pitched a fit after Minne told him for 3 or 4 straight instances "Brady NEVER said that, but go on......."

Yes.  Diaz kept saying the "texts" and Minnehan pointed out that the texts are between Jastremski and McNally and cannot be evidence of Brady lying.   The problem is that these guys come on the show having written for people in their market (Miami, Indy, SF, whatever) where the level of scrutiny is virtually nil.  Then when asked to come on DC&M, they say "sure", not realizing they are setting themselves up for an ambush, because in 99 out of 100 times, they haven't read the materials very closely, DC&M have, and they get killed for it.

I have given these guys a shot for football season, as I can only listen from like 6-645 and Toucher and Rich have their weakest moments in that period.  Today I clicked off after they OPENED with a list of people, like Hitler, Jerry Sandusky and Ellen DeGeneres and said that they are evil.  Also something to do with Johnny Depp.  Minnehan says wait, Ellen is as bad as Sandusky?  Gerry responded, well, if she could get away with it, she probably would do it, so yes.

Huh?

They were commenting on the fact that Depp said something on the red carpet about how Bulger had good in him and they were asking if he would say the same if he played Hitler, Manson, etc.

You missed them bagging on Chris Simms a bit later though.

Listening to the Brady WEEI interview...

Fuck Gary Tanguay...

Great interview...

flowing nicely...

getting some good information from Brady... then total non-sequitor to McNally and text question from Tanguay.

What an ass trying to make a name for himself as a Boston contrarian.

I have never actually listened to 'EEI, and by the time I started to listen to sports talk I had heard enough of D&C non-sports issues that I never wanted to listen to their show.

I was just curious to hear what Brady had to say this week.

And it sounded like Gary to me, but maybe it was someone else... But pretty sure it was Gary since I got subjected to him out here on a San Francisco radio station during Deflategate as a "Boston guy that thinks Brady did it".

Gary said this morning that he had to ask Brady the question because people would call him a fraud if he didn't.  Maintained that he still thinks Brady is guilty, but also is the smartest and best quarterback in the world.

Suspended over the "kill Roger Goodell" comment is the smart money.

Had a chance to listen to parts this morning, and got to hear Tanguay and the Jaguars beat guy talking about how the Pats spied on the Rams walkthrough. Good times.

Is Tanguay working for free at this point and making audition tapes? Who in their right mind made a decision that any sort of Tanguay is a good thing? I'm constantly amazed at WEEI's inability to introduce any sort of fresh blood (not even talent) but just fresh blood 7 days a week.

98.5 has their issues (Jim Murray, Adam Jones etc.) but they actually have a decent stable they can rotate in when need and not bring in Gary freaking Tanguay.

Yesterday they suggested Minihane would be back today. Yet today we get Tanguay. There is radio silence on KM's absence. Have to think he was actually suspended as opposed to fake suspended.

Thought the same thing. Forgive me, as I'm not aware of any issues he may have with Belichick. But Prisco going after Belichick for his arrogance seemed odd. His reason? (Paraphrasing) "when somebody comes out with a do your job video after clearly mismanaging the end of the super bowl, that's arrogant"

Prisco came off like scorned ex.

Prisco has been a professional idiot for more than a decade. For example, he's long been one of Kerry Byrne's favorite (and ripest) targets at Cold Hard Football Facts. I also remember that as late as the 2004 preseason, he was still calling TB "a system QB" and describing the Pats two (at the time) SB wins as flukey.

Callahan is not happy about the amount of attention that Don was getting yesterday and last week as a whole.  Openly mocking him.

Callahan:  "These play by play guys always think they are so important.  Like they are part of the team. You'r not! You're going to San Diego and you'll be fine"

He also did not like the "Orsillo rounding 3rd and heading home" line.  "He isn't dying!.  That's what people say when they are dying!"

They then went on to mock Castiglione for reading the end of season poem that he always reads.  "That is happening on our station?  And Ordway got fired for being too old?"

Callahan really said this? Wasn't it he the one who broke the DO is gone story?

And I wonder what he thinks about LL being allowed to go on the field and throw the first pitch? I mean, he's not dying. He's rich and he'll be fine.

I hope EEI cuts Callahan off mid-sentence on his last day as he's saying goodbye.

Yup.  He made sure to throw in the "I really like Don, he is a great guy" and all that.  But he seemed incredulous at the attention he was getting.  Said that the Sox players coming out and tipping their hats and touching their hearts was over the top.  He went on with the "Don was not a part of this team. He did not contribute to any of the 3 World Series titles."

It's like it was impossible for him to comprehend that people were showing appreciation for him for the last 15 years, coupled with how badly NESN botched everything.

They were talking about Remy choking up as well, and Minihane made a comment about Jen Martell's mother that I couldn't quite make out.

Don of course didn't play any games but he did spend what, 200-225 days a year with the team between games, spring training, flying on the team plane etc? What a jerk.
