I listened a bit and Callahan said something like, "And Fox News--which Iggy (a "liberal" producer) says is a 'Republican channel' was playing Michael Jackson videos all week. How is that a 'Republican Channel'?"
I think that Gerry's point was that because Fox News played a few Jackson videos this weekend it proves that the channels is fair and balanced. I don't want to get all V&N about Fox News, but I'm not really sure how a video by Michael Jackson (on the weekend after he dies) proves that Fox News isn't conservative. But to Callahan, it's proof positive. Oh yeah, Callahan says he has to get his Michael Jackson news from the UK or Canada because American journalists are "in bed with the Jackson cover-up".
Knowing how Callahan thinks, he probably thinks the fact FoxNews is playing videos of a black (well, genetically) guy who was a star in the eyes of younger audiences during his and later generations proves they 'care' about minorities. He likely sees Jackson as the 'black' musician who was liked by 'liberals' and 'minorities'.
This might seem ludicrous, but Callahan quite literally has the analytical skills and overall mind of a seventh grader.
