“This is how I enjoy my sports.”So you can dislike Ronaldo because you think he’s “an ass” but there is no way you can feel the same way about LeBron?

Well... why would sports be different from anything else?“This is how I enjoy my sports.”

Was this a criticism of Tony C or Kliq? Because I feel like it applies to both of them...“This is how I enjoy my sports.”

Are you bored or something? Is this, like, the season isn't starting in like forever so maybe shake the jar and see if we can make them fight? Was this a criticism of Tony C or Kliq? Because I feel like it applies to both of them...
He was definitely poking at Kliq, who deserved it, and he was delivering no fire to TonyC.Ha, wasn’t trying to stir the pot, it was a genuine question. But I do agree with your larger point; if it provides entertainment all the better, I just wasn’t sure who DJ was agreeing with.
But that’s kind of my point. Tony was effectively saying ‘you have to appreciate greatness no matter your affiliations...except for Rinaldo, he’s an ass.’...while criticizing people for thinking Lebron is an ass. Seems like DJs statement could apply to them both. But I’m obviously missing something; long week, so feel free to ignore, I wasn’t trying to start anything. Carry on and apologies. He was definitely poking at Kliq, who deserved it, and he was delivering no fire to TonyC.
All good, I am not even remotely annoyed by this. Lebron is one of the best players in the history of sports. Rondo is a very good player who shows occasional flashes of greatness, but he's also a jerk who says some pretty lousy things. He also takes a lot of games off.But that’s kind of my point. I don't think the two are comparable. You do have to appreciate what Lebron's done, even if you're not a fan.
Taking it further, to another example, you have to appreciate Tiger Woods for the golf greatness, even if you hate him. You do not have to do the same for Ian Poulter or Colin Montgomerie.
I can and definitely do admire Ronaldo on the pitch. My only point was that the example of players that show most fans don't root for great players on other teams was cherry picked -- steroids guys, Brady (and, of course, the cheating allegations are bs, but just speaking of perception) and Ronaldo who I think it is fair to say is perceived as an ass. I somewhat agree with that as Ronaldo is one of the great tax cheats in history while LeBron is a guy who acts with complete class off the court.Ronaldo is one of the best players in the history; I actually find him and LeBron very similar in that they are absurd physical talents who entered the profession with enormous expectations, managed to live up to those expectations, and have racked up as many detractors as admirers, while also doing a lot off the field/court to aid humanity.
Like, you can’t appreciate what Ronaldo has done as a soccer player?
Wait, what? When did Rondo get brought into the convo? Ronaldo, the soccer player. Was that a typo or just a brain fart? Typo. I don't read good. I was watching Succession while posting, so my focus was limited. I'm sorry.Wait, what? When did Rondo get brought into the convo? Ronaldo, the soccer player. Was that a typo or just a brain fart? I’m not trying to compare Lebron to Rondo.
Dude... if you won't focus, how are we ever going to figure this important shit out?Typo. I don't read good. I was watching Succession while posting, so my focus was limited. I'm sorry.
Wait... Lebron doesn’t whine and sulk? For me Ronaldo is deeply unlikeable, because despite being a generational talent he flops and whines and sulks when he doesn't get his way. LeBron is brilliant - and some would argue there are other parallels with Ronaldo. Personally I like LeBron and can't stand Ronaldo, but I like a lot of less talented ballers more.

No. Don't. I think someone somewhere is almost convinced.I give up.
I would imagine that non-Pats fans see Brady in a somewhat similar way that Celts fans see LeBron (like with Brady begging for roughing the passer calls). The other huge similarity between the two is that they are more devoted to their bodies and being the best they can possibly be than anyone else in their respective sports. They are defying the aging process. And they just care more about winning. Here's the difference between Lebron and other whiners, imo (obviously the cheaters like Bonds are not a good comparison)--Lebron complains to the refs, his teammates, and coaches in pursuit of winning. I don't think that anyone can make a compelling argument that any of his "antics" are geared towards his personal stats or managing perception. Manning is a poor counterpoint because he threw his teammates under the bus after games. Lebron is trying to get people up to his level because championships. I'll cheer for that any day.
Is this really true? I know LeBron works out in the off-season, but so do dozens of other players in the league. See for example all of the players working out with Hanson. LeBron was built like a Greek God when came into the league, it’s not like he transformed himself through diet and exercise. I’m sure there are some NBA players who are as obsessed with what they put into their bodies as Brady, while we know LeBron fancies himself a wine aficionado and imbines even during the season. The other huge similarity between the two is that they are more devoted to their bodies and being the best they can possibly be than anyone else in their respective sports.
I wasn't necessarily just referring to diet and exercise. Sleep, hyperbaric chambers, etc. Doesn't LeBron spend multiple millions of dollars each year maintaining his body? I acknowledge that he is built like a greek god (and Brady clearly isn't) but LeBron seems obsessed with maintaining his body.Is this really true? NB: I’m not even willing to concede Brady is more devoted to his body than everyone else in the NFL. He and LeBron are both obsessed surely, but they probably get more credit for it because they happen to be the best players in their leagues.
Edit: this seems like pretty pedestrian stuff for a pro athlete: https://www.businessinsider.com/lebron-james-eats-diet-workout-routine-2017-6
I agree with this wholeheartedly. He's a different guy now, and that's to his credit.Firstly, saying Lebron entered the league a greek god, while true, ignores the great transformation his physique has undergone throughout his career. He used to be a gazelle. Now hes a freight train. That isn't trivial.
Secondly, at least in the NBA, how many Ray Feltons and Jared Sullingers are there? A lot, actually. So maybe Lebron doesnt work the hardest. But with all his skill he couldve easily been a slob and still be successful and its a credit to him that he treats his body so well.
Maybe LeBron's legacy could have a greater effect than Michael's.This is why LeBron went to LA, to be a content producer:

That's what I meant by "and some would argue there are other parallels with Ronaldo".Or flop?
He could produce that from anywhere in the country. I am aure this thing has been in the works for some time and not something that just happened once he signed with LAThis is why LeBron went to LA, to be a content producer:
