I think what Raffy was called for was not being "attentive to the pitcher". He even got an extra 1-2 seconds but was still flipping the bat around. Attentive means ready to swing.
Even with the off day tomorrow you do n't use your high leverage guys in the 4th and 5th inning of a game getting away, in a regular season game.

Unfortunately we have a rotation chock full of guys who I imagine will be yanked in the 4th or 5th quite frequently. Not sure if its feasible to have better bullpen options there than the stiffs we trotted out, but our relievers who pitch in those situations are gonna get a lot of work this season.
By the end of the season, I'd guess Wong will have .200 points of OPS on Plawecki.
