The game was looking grim by the time Kluber exited, but it’s still pretty funny that the pitchers on opening day, with an off day tomorrow, are Kluber, Brasier, Ort, and Winckowski
This is true, but if Saturday, they use Sale and Martin and Jansen, means likely the game is going well.

Rough first game. Mostly annoying just because it featured Ort and Brasier both doing what they do best/worst. Really pleased with what we're seeing out of Yoshida. Oh well, we'll have a day off to stew and then back at it for the weekend. Knew this was going to be a rough patch to start the season, but I'll be counting the days until some of the dreck of our pitching staff gets pushed off the roster with returning upgrades.

I disagree with Youk on this one. The batter knows his responsibility, the pitcher's responsibility is to pitch it by the time the clock goes to zero, not be ready at 8 seconds.

Only one game but Kluber was awful. Lots of hard contact. Brasier and Ort both don’t belong anywhere near major league rosters

Devers did look at him before 8 seconds though. He looked up on time, saw that the pitcher wasn't even on the mound, and looked back down again. He was ready when he needed to be, and any rule that penalizes that is stupid.

Miami (oh, Miami!)
OK, this is why we should have some hope for the season. The lineup is much longer - put Story in there for the second half and it gets very long.

Who cares? Devers knows what the rule is.

(And how much does that bone-headed out hurt now?)

The offense is doing its job. I kind of wish Cora hadn't let Brasier piss away a bunch of runs with an off day tomorrow.
