Mike Pereira scheduled for 1:20 today.
Don't expect much from him. Russo, when he was on Felger & Mazz yetsreday, said he had Perreira on earlier and it seemed that Russo fomrulated much of his opinion (Pats are guility) based on what Perreira had to say

Not sure why anyone would listen To Perreira. Dude has not been in the league for 6 years and there has been a huge turnover for referees in that time.

Leaving in a bit to the studio :)
FFF completely avoided the main issue, and opened with "let's not talk about the past, let's talk about what we can do going forward."

I wasnt paying close attention, but it sounded like they were aiming for "the Pats betrayed the officials' trust" by submitting balls they knew werent up to spec.

Because Mikey knows in his heart that the Refs never tested the balls before the game

Kind of like DeNiro in Midnight Run with the "counterfeit" bills @ Red's bar

now Mike "doesn't care anymore" about issue because nothing was done to Patriots for this game.  Don't expect Mike to apologize if the Commish absolves the Patriots of responsibility

This has got to be driving him nuts.  Earlier in the week he was practically calling for the franchise to be thrown out of the league.
Now, nothing.

he is destroying the press conference and all of the dumb questions.  he was groaning on air, and then cut away when a British reporter started to ask a question.

Mike believes the Pats did tape the Rams Super Bowl practice. Says 'I've heard guys (former players) talk about it.' Says the media didn't make that up. Also says it's hard for Warner and Faulk to be on NFLN knowing it happened but can't comment on it.

Now he's insisting the media has buried the Aaron Hernandez story because they're worried about offending the NFL. The Hernandez case was in all the network newscasts' first blocks Thursday and Friday. He's just being willfully assy today. Click.

Dear Lord I wish the Pats could sue when people say this garbage, THIS is why people think the Patriots are chronic cheaters, media can spout this nonsense and no one can do anything out it!

That's his evidence?  Nameless 'guys' speculating with who knows how many beers on them?

A fucking sports reporter effectively lost his job over it.

Also, what is he on?  Warner and Faulk have commented on it before, I don't know what the hell he is talking about.  Warner has been alluding to this shit as recently as the past few weeks.

Mike should have that former Panthers GM on, they both employ the same level of logic on this one.

"Tom Coughlin most definitely showed nothing in Saturday practice before Super Bowl in case Pats were taping it"

Let's get Tom on the phone to discuss.

He rarely confronts people, though.  The last time I recall him taking an athlete/coach to the mat was Troy Aikman re: whether Jimmy Johnson benched him in his rookie year.

Mike didn't say who, he just said 'guys have talked to me about it' meaning he knows inside and off-the-record info. Of course, he wouldn't name any names or go into any specifics.
He said he felt bad for Warner and Faulk who have been put in an awkward spot talking about the Pats objectively when they are on NFLN knowing what they know.
It's beyond trolling for Mike, it's a personal vendetta at this point and no amount of common sense will break it.

where I was last at
He's been dealing that insinuation for years.

He'll say "ask Marshall Faulk about what he thinks about that Super-Bowl, but I don't want to get into it"

same bullshit for years.

Let me see:  not a single player for the Rams, Steelers, Panthers, or Eagles ever claimed the Pats cheated, until.... the Pats got caught with a camera on the sideline in the Meadowlands, and the media misreported the whole Spygate story.

Then, not a single word from anyone about the Pats taping practices, until.... Tomase prints a story that even he had to refute once he learned his source outright lied to him.  Never mind that not a single member of the ESPN, CNNSI, NFLN, or other network mediots could ever substantiate the rumors, despite the fact that if they were able to find any hint of evidence from their myriad of sources, they would have a blockbuster to print.

I would love to see a caller bring up these points to guys like Felger, Mazz, Francesca, et al, but it's almost child's play.

Yeah, well, no one said anything about the Patriots deflating footballs either until the Colts caught them in the act and turned them in.  Obviously, they've been doing it for decades and it's why Brady even has a job in the league at this point.

There was some mediot commenting the other day about how the taping helped Bruschi with key defensive calls. Of course, the Pats were taping defensive signals, but why let facts get in the way.

Well, what really hurts the Pats' case is that the offense was pretty much unstoppable against the Rams that day.

He says this often as if it is a fact.

Like everything he says.

He's wrong about 75% of the time about pretty much everything. I go back to the very beginning with Russo. The only thing that has changed is his ego has grown beyond what is possible

Mike Westhoff was on WEEI this week mouthing the same sort of crap, moaning about all the stuff the Pats pull. He was asked to get specific, and it quickly dissolved into a lot of "guys around the league" say blah, blah, blah.

Francesa's approach will be to say, "I'm sorry, but the Patriots should never have even been in that game. They cheated to get there." Case closed.

Too true, still might be must-listen anyway.

Oh hell, Tubby is going to double-down and maintain that the fact the Pats were even allowed to play in the game is a disgrace to the NFL.  He's going to explode like the Hindenburg.  Oh the Humanity!

I think he'll say the Pats didn't earn the win so much as Seattle handed it to them by calling for that pass and that the Pats have never been an impressive SB team.

and then everyone can show him the fluke catch to end all fluke catches 2 plays before that that seattle needed to even get the chance to throw the pick

Oh, he'll just talk about what a gutty effort Kearse made. Nothing fluky about it, he'll insist. :)

I'm listening at 1:05 sharp

Very sweet.

Almost as good as after the MFY lost game 7.

Oh he will build some narrative

That's all they all do - build up some red herring - and then move the goalposts when things change.

But they can't take it away this time. I look forward to his bullshit

True justice.

If any Pats fan gets through tomorrow, the first thing they should say is "I don't know how anyone can think that the Pats are a great team when they haven't won a Super Bowl in over TEN HOURS."  And then do a long, loud "Robert DeNiro sitting in the theater smoking a cigar in Cape Fear" braying laugh.

Wasn't westhoff the Jets special teams coach who had all the inactives illegally positioned on the white sideline barrier and tripping the gunners?

EDIT....offically it was the strength coach who took the fall:
Both Jets coach Rex Ryan and special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff said they were unaware of the tactic.

Can see it a mile away; Mike will talk about the Seahawks blowing it with not running Lynch at the end. It'll be Seattle losing, not Pats winning.

Nobody with half a brain takes the Post seriously.

That is to say...you are probably right.
