I was at the game but wasn’t tracking Murphy too closely. Fastball in the low 90s on the stadium gun, didn’t seem the be humping it up there to get the velocity but the command of it seemed meh. Solid defensive effort. I might not read too much into the line on a night like Tuesday night: it was a brisk blowout (the minor league pitch clock is great, 11-0 in 2:40), with a lot of hard contact from the good guys. Ron Hernandez in particular was flexing serious pull power, including a foul ball out towards 295 which was the biggest moon shot I’ve seen at Hadlock since Charles Johnson hit one off the scoreboard clock. Casas looked great—doesn’t seem heavy, really short to the ball. Got under it a couple times—one of his two doubles got lost in the lights, but I thought the other one should have been called a HR to straightaway center. Is Chris Murphy interesting? He’s 16 on SP top 20, lefty with 3 pitch mix, misses bats. Put up a nice line of 7ip, 1h, 7k/1bb tonight and has performed since promo to AA. 20 HRA is not ideal though. Future pen arm, maybe.
Possibly before so he could be post-season eligible since apparently only Sale can pitch for the ML team any longerDamn - Connor Seabold with a masterpeice today; a 7 inning 1 hitter and 9/1 SO/BB against a good ScrantonWB team. Keep it up dude, September call-ups are right around the corner
No, but I appreciate the shoutout to the Expos’ championship run in 1996 in the article. A bunch of us from HS were there on a cold night for a doubleheader for all the marbles IIRC. That was always a sneaky fun place to watch a game.Way to go Monsters! Anyone at Centennial last night?

Can’t they use the IL replacement move to add a pitcher for postseason play? Assuming Bazardo stays on the 60 day.Possibly before so he could be post-season eligible since apparently only Sale can pitch for the ML team any longer
He was a SS at one point. Maybe his arm translates to the OF better, I dunno. That wasn't average though.SoxProspects listed his arm as solid/average. That looked like a whole lot more than average throw to me.
We'll obviously look back on this in 10+ years, but for now, I still can't believe this guy fell to us.Mayer 3rd HR today. I know proximity is important but he is our easy #1, IMO.
2024: Casas at 1B, Yorke at 2B, Mayer at SS, and an ancient (27 year old) Devers at 3B. Who complains? We'll obviously look back on this in 10+ years, but for now, I still can't believe this guy fell to us.
Well, if you want to take your mental masturbation to the extreme, you’d might as well stick X in LF!2024: Casas at 1B, Yorke at 2B, Mayer at SS, and an ancient (27 year old) Devers at 3B. Who complains?
It's almost enough for me to talk myself into being okay when Xander opts out.

That's where Blaze Jordan will be. No room for X, maybe DH.Well, if you want to take your mental masturbation to the extreme, you’d might as well stick X in LF!
Career minor leaguer most likely. He's below average or worse pretty much everywhere else. He has cut down on the strikeouts this year. It's possible he develops into more but he has to improve his contact skills and pitch recognition. He offers nothing base running or on defense.Cesar, what’s your thoughts on Dearden? 24 homers, but does he have anything else to offer?
That’s what I assumed since he’s really gotten no pub for this career year. ThanksCareer minor leaguer most likely. He's below average or worse pretty much everywhere else.
