Fascinating like a documentary on the battle of the Somme. It’s a total bloodbath.Broncos are one of the more fascinating teams to watch this offseason
What benefit would they get out of doing that?I think I would staple a 5th to him if necessary. Thankfully they can just cut him. I'll be stunned if they get as high as a 5th and and absolutely amazed if they get a 4th.
Just a joke about how badly I want to see him gone. What benefit would they get out of doing that?
A little under $3M in cap spaceWhat benefit would they get out of doing that?
The Orange WeddingFascinating like a documentary on the battle of the Somme. It’s a total bloodbath.
Oohh! Is there a Chantilly Conference debate coming? I’ve been waiting for this my whole SOSH career!Fascinating like a documentary on the battle of the Somme. It’s a total bloodbath.
Under 2 I think once you take into account that you will fill the roster spotA little under $3M in cap space
Yeah. I was thinking in the hypothetical versus cutting Mac.Under 2 I think once you take into account that you will fill the roster spot
Thank you for this. Even if dinner has become a bit of a mess.
The ‘legal’ tampering period begins tomorrow, so it’s a given that there will be a flurry of activity, whether re-signing players who become FA on Wednesday, coming close to terms with other teams’ pending FA, or trades (eg, guys on franchise tenders).View: https://twitter.com/scottzolak/status/1766915084301861292
Not sure where else to put this, plus its Zolak, but it sounds like there are signings or trades happening in the next 48 hours.
Smith would be hugeAside from Ridley maybe Sneed or Burns? Lot of the fireworks were put back in the container through the franchise tags and resignings.
Yes. Over a bridge year. Are we going Full Throttle ™?
What WR would sign here without a QB?Aside from Ridley maybe Sneed or Burns? Lot of the fireworks were put back in the container through the franchise tags and resignings.
Ridley for one. He's looking for a deal for his 30+ seasons, hasn't had a 2nd contract yet and made very little in comparison with his peers because he entered the league old and missed a full season for suspension. He'll go to whomever offers the most money because this is his only shot at a big deal (WRs are basically done getting multi-year big deals by 32/33 because most are well into their decline by then, in fact Ridley's next deal will be almost all decline years). Almost all NFL free agents take the most money, but particularly guys who are unlikely due to age/position to ever get another big deal. What WR would sign here without a QB?
The Patriots have reportedly re-upped one of their top pass-catchers ahead of the start of free agency.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Patriots are re-signing wide receiver Kendrick Bourne to a three-year contract worth up to $33 million. The 28-year-old wideout was expected to hit free agency this week, with the NFL’s legal tampering period expected to begin at 12 p.m.
I'd be OK if we addressed ST in a different fashion than under the later BB years. His attention to ST over time was a major advantage, but the last few years seemed to slip into an obsession and an inefficient allocation of resources.
I think nothing really changed except that the team was worse, so focusing on ST became an issues because it reduced competition for O and D spots (particularly O) where they didn't have set options. When you're locked in at WR/TE/RB/S/CB, etc. it makes sense to have guys who are elite in ST roles, if you don't makes more sense to have guys who can do both and have upside.I'd be OK if we addressed ST in a different fashion than under the later BB years. His attention to ST over time was a major advantage, but the last few years seemed to slip into an obsession and an inefficient allocation of resources.
It wasn't the attention to ST that was the problem, it was the ineffectual execution of it under Cam Achord. Thankfully he's gone now.I'd be OK if we addressed ST in a different fashion than under the later BB years. It was more than that, IMO.It wasn't the attention to ST that was the problem, it was the ineffectual execution of it under Cam Achord. Thankfully he's gone now.

tyquan appears to have added a bunch of muscle, not sure it matters if he can't fix his routes but it's something
I literally cant remember a single instance of Board's name being mentioned on a broadcast.I'd be OK if we addressed ST in a different fashion than under the later BB years. That means he wasn't beaten horribly on a block? He was no Schooler, stupid penalties and all.I literally cant remember a single instance of Board's name being mentioned on a broadcast.
Someone check on Zolak. Maybe he meant he was applying for radio broadcast jobs in several other markets.Maybe Tuesday will be the fireworks
Nobody off the board today seemed like a big Pats target. Some would be nice to have, but nothing that torpedoes anything.Maybe Tuesday will be the fireworks
I thought they'd be in on Wilkins (and may have been). Sneed, Ridley, Higgins and the Oline guys are the guys that are left that would make the most sense? Maybe a coverage safety too.Nobody off the board today seemed like a big Pats target. Some would be nice to have, but nothing that torpedoes anything.
I didn't expect much.. Wolf came up under adherents of the "early money is dumb money" philosophy. And it's usually right.Nobody off the board today seemed like a big Pats target. Some would be nice to have, but nothing that torpedoes anything.
And we pretty much are all happy with all of those moves.Agreed.
Patriots offensive signings so far:
Henry
Bourne
Gibson
Okafor
With Mac traded and Parker released, they have made 6 moves on offense so far.
That’s the crazy thing actually. And we pretty much are all happy with all of those moves.
I was once happy with the Jonnu Smith deal. I don’t trust my judgment. That’s the crazy thing actually.
And I was happy with drafting Mac. C’est la vie.I was once happy with the Jonnu Smith deal. I don’t trust my judgment.
Oh I don’t think they missed out on anything really, it just made me laugh that Zolak said expect fireworks and then not much of anything - reminded me of full throttleNobody off the board today seemed like a big Pats target. Some would be nice to have, but nothing that torpedoes anything.
To be fair, he said Monday and Tuesday ... so there's still a chanceOh I don’t think they missed out on anything really, it just made me laugh that Zolak said expect fireworks and then not much of anything - reminded me of full throttle
Anyone sign today that the Pats missed out on? A lot of defensive players in areas where the Pats have depth already, a couple of offensive lineman, and some league average tight ends. Pittman decided to stay put. Kirk Cousins, Russell Wilson, Gardner Minshew were not coming here for various reasons. While I'm happy with the signings, not addressing any needs while rolling back the guys that gave us a 4-13 season is a bold strategy. I hope they go after some of these big name guys tomorrow, otherwise it feels like the gameplan is, "blame Mac, blame Belichick, run back the same squad."
Yeah. That's actually a completely fair and reasonable point.Anyone sign today that the Pats missed out on? A lot of defensive players in areas where the Pats have depth already, a couple of offensive lineman, and some league average tight ends. Pittman decided to stay put. Seems like there are still plenty of options to upgrade the roster.
