Ahmed Fareed makes his fill-in debut and apparently NBC Sports won't bring Danny Higginbotham to the Philly fan fest...even though he commentates for the Union

No Reece James today

nowhere, really
Does EPL just not do injury reporting ahead of time? This is the the second time this year that my FPL team has gotten screwed by a late scratch...

Man, Anthony Gordon is a real shithouser, doing everything he can to slow the game down and not let Leeds take throw-ins and free kicks. He's going to be an extremely fun guy to root for or against this season.

Tom Davies with one of the more idiotic yellow cards I have ever seen trying to kick the ball out of the keeper's hands.

Bizarre injury to Rodrigo. Got his arm tangled with Pickford in a challenge and seemed to hyperextend or dislocate something? It wasn't anything more physical than your average set piece marking, and they never fell to the ground or anything. So strange.

Dybala with two goals so far. He’s going to break out and Juventus and make them look like absolute dunces for letting him go on a goddamn free.

The 718
Everton ought to tack on another 20 million when selling Gordon to Chelsea
had always had pace and work rate, but has slotted ruthlessly and clinically two games in a row.

pressed very well tonight.

Also has been a spirited shithouser/ wind up merchant which Everton have needed. Went into Leeds and punched them in the mouth from the start, out pressed the pressing team, could not keep it up for 90 in a hostile park with a thin bench, but love the mindset of going into the game looking to take it to the other side rather than just be passive.

Isak's UK work permit just came through this morning, so he is eligible to play today for Newcastle against Liverpool. But he has barely trained, so I'd expect he'll either start and play maybe 60 or come in late. Definitely no Bruno, Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson, or Jonjo, which leaves few if any quality non-defenders. Starting CM likely to be either Sean Longstaff or 19 y/o Eliott Anderson (which I sort of doubt, because they don't want to break him). Liverpool will have a decided advantage in midfield, even with all their injuries.

No rotation for Liverpool from the weekend, but Matip and Jones are on the bench. Fingers crossed Jones can get 15 minutes in and stay healthy.

Haaland is a UNIT -just manhandling defenders and shrugging them off like gnats....and his movement without the ball is really crisp. Adjust time....what adjustment time?!?

Why did they spend 10min in that Spurs/Hammers VAR review on the two worst angles before showing the angle that was obvious?

Extremely lazy TAA pass eventually leads to a nice finish from store-brand Haaland!

I can't decide if Haaland comparisons for Isak are good for him or not. He's not going to perform like Haaland and shouldn't really be compared to him, but they are extremely similar players in a lot of ways. That was a trademark Isak finish for his first goal.

lol, Spurs timewasting 8 minutes into the second half, immediately get the Karmic punishment of surrendering the equalizer

Elliott has been Liverpool’s MOTM so far. Maybe the best okayed all month, too.

The need to bring in the likes of Chris Wood and Jacob Murphy really points out Newcastle's lack of depth.

oof,

West Ham with a golden chance to score, but the two new signings who have never even trained together yet each leave it for the other

Edit- also 4 bookings in extra time so far

Draw is a fair result, West Ham probably should have won with better chances in the 2nd, but... meh

Agreed. Spurs better in the first half, absolutely stunk the joint up in the second half. Maybe the most low-energy iteration of that derby I have ever seen.
