Here
Good lord, Barkley shitting all over Kenny Smith and his kid as UNC gets demolished was both savage and hilarious.

Stone Cold Steve Austin is the most famous North Texas alum.

A 15 beating a 2 and a 13 beating a 4 is impressive, but doing it in overtime where the more talented team is supposed to take over makes it a little sweeter.

The 2-3 zone is at its best against top tier or middle tier non conference teams that are good enough to have balanced rosters but who have no experience against it. It's at its worst against teams who have no size so need 5 guys on the floor spread out who can hit 3's.

After watching Boeheim use his mask as a chinstrap all game, why even have the coaches wear masks? College basketball coaches have had ZERO desire to wear masks except when they're not spitting airborne particles into the air, and with no pushback from conferences or the NCAA. So what the hell is the point?

I honestly dont even know. They are all tested. They are all quarantining. I'm not sure what the point is.

I'd argue showing prevalent non-compliance with masks is more harmful than just saying hey we're all in a semi-bubble here so let's just drop the charade. Boeheim's probably even vaccinated at this point, hence not giving AF.

On to the basketball! Very good first day as may be suspected because who could pin down the seeding during this oddball year.

I don’t think anyone’s taking their mask wearing cues from the NCAA tourney

Incredible performance by Syracuse tonight. They play like this, there aren't many teams that will beat them. Of course...it'll be really difficult to play this well again. But they could be a problem for some people.

Agreed. I expect them to win the next game regardless of opponent. But Houston..if thats who they get after that...thats gonna be brutal

Luckily for the Orange, not many ACC teams left

Always great to watch otherwise good non-ACC teams struggle with the 2-3

Liberty committed their 7th foul of the half, but Oklahoma State did not go to the free throw line. Sure enough, the Cowboys hit a 3 on that possession. Nice job, refs!
Didn’t see the play. Could it have been they ruled it a player control foul? That would be the only way this would occur.

I just want to say it's really fun to have this tourney back.

First two days are some of my favorite sports days of the year. At some point when it's next in Worcester or Providence, I really want to attend in person.

With the success Mohegan Sun’s “Bubbleville” had this past fall, their money, and newly developed connections within the NCAA we may see first weekend games in CT in the near future as well.

I am loading up on Colorado today. Looking at that line, it seems like betting Georgetown is very easy. (like betting NC was yesterday) They just wrapped up an awesome Big East tournament win and they are getting 5.5.

Colorado all the way here.

The two brothers on eastern Washington are making it absolutely rain. One looks like a 40 year old lumberjack and one looks like a high school sophomore. Neither looks all that athletic. But they’re sick

That worked out just about as well as it could have. Wire to wire destruction.

I’m in a bracket group w a bunch of guys I know from college. This one guy knows absolutely nothing about basketball. And he’s one of 66 perfect brackets left

We’ve all been the victim of losing a pool to someone who bases their picks on which mascot would win in a fight.
In 2011, I ran a pool in my office, back when you could run pools in an office without corporate up your butt about it being a problem. My business partner, someone I am certain didn't watch a single minute of college basketball that year, picked UCONN to win because she grew up in CT. She didn't even want to enter it but I offered a free entry because we were partners and I was running the thing.

She won the pool. She had forgotten she had even entered it.

East Washington coach questioned the shot clock on a dubious out of bounds call where his team retained possession. Because of the shot clock check, they checked the dubious call, too. Turns out, it was Kansas ball.

Colossal fuck up.
