So, is the takeaway so far that the Big 10 is pretty stinky in the tournament except when it plays my favorite team? (Connecticut)
I had the Zags in the first half and in the game. 9.5 and 15.5.
Both bets looked bad. But both won.(the 15.5 was a miracle win, in fact) That halftime line looked especially enticing to take the dog. 9.5 points in a half? Which is why I laid them. I did have Iowa and that was my worst bet of the entire weekend.
Next up, I think UCLA covers.
They can look really good at times. Great job by Michigan to switch to the zone to throw them off the rhythm. Thought Michigan was the better team the last eight minutes. Should be a good second half.LSU looks like a Top 5 team. More talented than Michigan.
They’re supppppper streaky. They’re the JBJ of basketball.LSU looks like a Top 5 team. More talented than Michigan.
I was surprised by that line and then I watched Kansas shoot for the last 5 minutes.USC is a slight favorite against Kansas. Kansas at + odds looks too tempting. Does that mean take USC?
LSU has some very talented players, but not as much depth. Michigan made adjustments and then wore them down, though they still need to adjust to the non-Big 10 refs if they hope to keep winning.LSU just got worn out - good effort from them but Michigan has too many horses.
Reminded me of "Survive And Advance"! .... "we're not going to let them hold the ball....and be sure to foul Alvin Franklin, the freshman".It's weird because Houston is leaving so many points at the FT line.
I think we got our answer. What a beatdown. I don't think even Self's Tulsa and Illinois teams lost this bad.USC is a slight favorite against Kansas. Kansas at + odds looks too tempting. Does that mean take USC?
You're completely right, but I will admit that I just don't understand what happened to Illinois. With the exception of one game against MSU back in February, they had been playing like a machine and then just collapsed in the second round. It's one thing to lose. It's another to simply not compete.Big 10/14 got overrated, and perhaps the Big 12/10 too. ACC too but we knew that.
Their guards looked like they had never seen a defense where they trap everything at the top of the key. They were horrible. And then they broke down completely defensively the last 8-10 minutes; Loyola looked like they were putting on a clinic. You're completely right, but I will admit that I just don't understand what happened to Illinois. Just awful.
The Hogs doing things we haven't seen in 25 years, giving me all the feels! Need to give Muss a blank check and let him coach there as long as he wants.Woo Pig Soooie!
I was hoping that Mike Anderson(they should have promoted him immediately after Richardson) would have gotten the program back to the Days of Nolan, but Muss has me very excited about the program again. I love his style of basketball. I'm pretty sure he's going to get a pretty good raise after their season is over. The Hogs doing things we haven't seen in 25 years, giving me all the feels! If it is any consolation, the games would not have been on in the afternoon on Friday.I totally missed that we're moving to Saturday - Tuesday for the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds. I'm sure it's part of Covid protocol, but I have Friday off and was absolutely looking forward to catching some afternoon games.
What if I am in Hawaii? If it is any consolation, the games would not have been on in the afternoon on Friday.
This. The one thing I like about Sweet 16 on Saturday & Sunday is that all 8 games will be stand alone games.
You could stream every tournament game going all the way back to 2006.(probably earlier, but I remember being at an airport in 2006 and was delayed and watched every game on my laptop)This.
Nothing worse than having to decide between two good games running concurrently.
And it used to be worse when all the games were on CBS, sometimes they didn't switch from a blowout to a good game.
I just DVR them, and although I hate getting the score on the scroll at the top, the staggered starts usually allows for watching the 2nd halfs, or most of the 2nd halfs, on all games, without spoilage. Just have to watch them in chronological order and be liberal with the FF on the remote. (I personally skip all free throws in the first 38 minutes, all timeouts and reviews, and all commercials.) It helps when you get blowouts in the first round so you just avoid the games (thanks Illinois-Drexel, Zags Norfolk, and Baylor whever it was they played)This.
