Well, check out Fields’ mechanics. I like him a lot but it was a bit...concerning?His throwing mechanics look weird to me, like he shot puts or short arms the ball.
But uh, I know nothing, so...
Exactly.Patriots get the guy that was the unanimous 3rd overall pick in the draft without needing to trade up!
I'd like to see them use some draft capital to move back into the bottom of R1So, who's pumped for Asante Samuel Jr in R2?
That was awesome. Good PR start.Best franchise in NFL history.
Then gets booed.
Love it.
And there are people upset about it.I'm honestly a little stunned that the Pats got a guy they wanted, at a position they desperately needed help in, without giving up anything else.
I’ve heard someone that says he looks like a Lego MinifigDude is weirdly shaped.
Yep. Can't make everyone happy. And look, he may end up not being any good. It's not like this is a sure thing. But he can throw, he'll get stronger, he's playing for the best organization with the best coach, and he can take a year to learn - because I don't think he'll start right away. And he'll have a powerhouse offensive line, good receivers, great tight ends, and really good running backs around him. He's in a GREAT spot. And there are people upset about it.
There is nothing hysterical about it. As has been discussed for weeks/months. Jones has obvious flaws, which could inhibit his success in the NFL. He and Fields career trajectories should continue to be compared as he was a realistic move up for the Patriots.I’m here to follow what’s going on and read up on the prospects.
im not here for the hysterical takes that cannot possibly be more informed than even the worst NFL franchise.
Phillip RiversWell, check out Fields’ mechanics. I like him a lot but it was a bit...concerning?
Upside and downside with all these guys
You couldn't ask for a better mentor than Jarret Stidham. Will an Auburn QB even be willing to mentor an Alabama QB though?
Yeah... if they had traded up for Mac I would have been devastated & not just sad lol.Oh no doubt it COULD end disastrously. But they couldn't go with Cam as the future. This was the year to get a QB. I wanted them to trade up for Lance, but with Lance going #3, no shot at that. I'd have loved a move up for Fields too, but oh well. Mac at 15 works just fine. Didn't give up any extra picks, so that's a bonus.
Absolutely agree.Yep. Can't make everyone happy. And look, he may end up not being any good. It's not like this is a sure thing. N’Keal Harry’s dream QB.Went back and watched Jones' highlights from last year, it's amazing how many of his TDs were underthrown by 5 yards to guys who were 8 yards open.
he really can't be worse than what they already have.Gross. I hate this. Bust.
this all day longI'm honestly a little stunned that the Pats got a guy they wanted, at a position they desperately needed help in, without giving up anything else.
Wasting a 1st round pick on someone who will probably never be a good QB? I guess that's not a disaster in the larger sense of the world at large, but it's pretty rough for the next few years. How could it end disastrously?
Yep, at a certain point you have to take a real chance.Ecstatic. I just wanted a future at the QB position.
We finally have one.
