I wouldn't bet against the Patriots, and not saying if they get all the skill guys back, because I'm confident they will.
Healthy Pats are the best team and have been since Week 1. I don't know if they're going to get healthy enough.

@footballzebras: "SEA fumble reverts to the fumble spot, since it is a fumble after 2 min warning recovered by teammate of fumbler"

I hate that NFL non-clock rules are different depending on the time left in the game.

Where it rains. No, seriously.

It's a necessary and good rule to prevent stupid end-of-game outcomes.

Edit: unless you are arguing that the Holy Roller rule should be the standard.

This is a gooood team.Their D is awesome
And besides Palmer throwing the ball great, he seems stronger and tougher than ever.

The Cardinals are considered one of the original NFL teams (based in Chicago and St. Louis before Arizona). They won NFL titles in 1925 and 1947, and no titles since. Guess it would be a team to root for, if NE doesn't get to Santa Clara.

Okay, those of you who know these things better ... who is the better Pats rooting interest in Broncos-Bengals? I'm thinking root for a Bengals loss, but my batting average on these things is poor

Bengals win. I'd take my chances against AJ McCarron any day over a game at Mile High, though I think the Pats could win at either place if they're back to full health.

Agree. Careful what you wish for, but I guess in the event the Pats lose to Miami I would rather see Cinci on the road in the AFCCG than have to to Denver. Hopefully, the Pats beat Miami and then I don't care.

Aren't they saying there is a good chance Dalton makes it back? Not that he is scary but they'd be playing with their normal offensive rhythm.

It really doesn't matter though. Pats won't lose next week and the road to the SB runs through Foxboro.

Jeff Fisher stupidly decides not to go for two. Shocker.

What is the chance that Seattle has three more scoring drives in the last 10 minutes, scores exactly 13 points on those drives, and the Rams meanwhile don't score any points of their own?

What was bullshit? They got all the fumble recovery stuff right on that drive, it seemed to me.
Wibi can speak for himself, but I think he's cursing the Hawks' luck -- it was a sweet play to strip Gurley, and downfield fumbles like that are usually recovered by the D.

Blake Bortles is 2nd in the NFL with 35 TD passes, 1 behind Brady.
2015 Blake Bortles is a better version of 2014 Kirk Cousins. If Bortles can cut down on the picks, he'll be a top-10 QB.

I was inferring frustration with the refs, as the fans in the stadium seem to be exhibiting. I don't think they've gotten a call wrong yet. The Seahawks luck has been not so great, although they did just recover Wilson's fumble just now.

The TD numbers are impressive but Bortles has a pretty bad completion percentage and doesn't look very good by more advanced metrics like ANY/A. He also has really feasted on some horrendous teams this year. I'm not dismissing him but I'm not willing to declare him an above average starting QB quite yet.

The Falcons' playoff chances are pretty hilarious to calculate:

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/upshot/2015-nfl-playoff-simulator.html?team=atl#no-jax-16=win&ari-gb-16=win&sea-stl-16=loss&min-nyg-16=loss&atl-no-17=win&gb-min-17=win&ari-sea-17=win

They need to beat New Orleans next week and have both Seattle and Minnesota lose out (eminently possible at this point with the Rams up by 13)...and then they need several of the Titans, Broncos, Panthers and maybe one or two other teams to win to clinch the #5 seed on strength of schedule. They can't get the #6 seed, only the #5 seed.

Obviously its a different kind of offense from the Pats but you look at the Cards and they have a pretty decent running game to balance their air attack.
The thing that sticks in the back of your mind with the O-line decimation on the Pats is how little chemistry these guys have playing together. I would imagine that it makes it that much tougher to get a running game going.

“@DavidPurdum: The high-roller at the Flamingo is back. He’s risking $165,000 to win $15,000 on the Seahawks beating the Rams straight-up.”

If you know which team will lose next week root for them.

On the schadenfreude front - screw Mike Tomlin and his perpetual sideline antics and his irresponsible game 1 headset finger pointing. Way to screw the pooch against a 4th string QB Mike.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill played the entire game during Sunday’s 18–12 loss to the Indianapolis Colts despite finding blood in his urine last week, reportsAdam Beasley of the Miami Herald.

The cause of the blood and the severity of the situation is unknown, according to the report. Tannehill was sacked six times during the Dolphins’ loss, which dropped the team to 5–10. Teammates said at times during the game Tannehill could hardly catch his breath after being hit.
