Have you seen Matt Adams splits? Kershaw on short rest with Ebola is still a better option than Baez.

Yeah they should have pulled him after the first hit. Leaving him to face the LHH Adams isn't indefensible, but even still, he should have been on the top step that whole inning. That's what you do when you send a guy out there on short rest.

Yup....he blew Game 1 and now Game 4 is on him as well. He has pitched poorly his entire career in the postseason when it counts.
Disagree, I think his manager left his swinging in the wind twice now. Whatever, agree to disagree.

You know - the Dodgers lineup ought to be able to score ONE run here.

(One more reason I am sitting in a room at a Marriott outside of Minneapolis, instead of managing in the majors.)

If Neshek gets them 1.2.3, does it break their collective will? Because that might be nice.
I'd be real tempted to leave Neshek out there to start the 9th. Rosenthal has looked pretty hittable so far this series.

Tampa had the second most sacrifice bunts in the AL, so bunting must now be good
How many?  I'm guessing it's down league wide because it's been proven to be stupid in most cases.

How it is that the Dodgers or the Tigers did not back up the prospect truck and dump its contents on the Red Sox lawn to get Andrew Miller I don't understand. They deserve their endings for not fixing their problems when they could have.

Full credit to Dan Duqeutte for getting Miller. So much like the Duke, building his pitching staff backwards, just like he used to do in Boston. Serviceable starters, and a great bullpen = success in the playoffs. Baltimore and KC know this. Detroit and LA? Not so much.

They don't have a GM who is French Canadian, Norm.

And it's not just Miller. Why not make a play for Tazawa?

Apparently that was the first HR off Kershaw's curveball by a LHH in his career.

Close.

“@ESPNChiCubs: Accoding to TruMedia Kershaw hasn't given up a HR to a lefty on a curveball since 2010.”

Jansen, then? That was a Foulke in 2004 situation.
This. Mattingly managed that like it was the second game of a three game series in April, not an elimination game.

Yup.  This is true.  But he can still be criticized for not making the best use of what he's got.  Yesterday might've been a good time to go starter-Howell-Jensen.
I thought the same but a Dodger friend pointed out how bad JP Howell was in September.  Very bad.

Regardless, Donnie Baseball is dumb and as Hudler would say, "He's got to go!"

So we should get Shields and Masterson (or someone else non-Lester/Scherzer) as well as Miller and Robertson (assuming he doesnt get and accept a QO) ?

Has potential.

All of us have had this thought cross our minds - "Watch the Cards run the goddamn table."
It's all set up.  No Tigers, no Angels.  Nats almost gone.  Is there really a great team still left?  Nats maybe.  Dodgers were the team I wouldn't have wanted to face with Kershaw-Greinke-Ryu and a good AL-style lineup.
