Other than Bum's runins with Yasiel Puig, which it looks like he probably started, any other reasons you think Bum is a bad guy?
It's not just Puig he's done something like that to, but the last one with Puig was ridiculous.

Although he should probably get points for the Joe West staredown.

Got pissy with Max Scherzer because Max said something about bringing the DH to the NL. Also had the few run ins with Puig.

Does the guy who made the call participate in the conversation with the replay official?

Like, does he say, "there was a gap between the first foot and the second foot, and it looked like the tag was being applied during that gap." Because if the 2 base ump said that, and I was looking at the video, I'd probably uphold the call on the field there too. But if the replay official just does his thing without knowing why the call was made or what the ump thought he saw, that's a hard one.

I've decided that I don't love replay
I'm with you. Especially the way that it's done, with the clubhouse checking, the manager waiting, the confirming finally that it's worth risking a challenge, to the OK, to the walk over to the headphones, to the reevaluating the play in NY...

All from a sport that's obsessed with speeding up the game. They should majorly limit the types of plays that can be reviewed and force managers to decide in a 15 second window or something.

I doubt it.
The 2b umpire couldn't see when the tag was applied and I can't imagine he could tell there may have been an instant when he wasn't touching the bag.
He used the standard that has been used forever, ball beat him so he is out.

Thor has already thrown a lot of pitches...54
They have Familia, who Collins said he'd actually use, and has gone multiple innings in playoffs before, plus rest of BP is also 75 hours rested. 60 through 4 isn;t that much either.

If he makes it 7 1/3, no worse than tied, they're doing well.

I've said it before and probably will in future.

If you aren't sure enough in real time to risk a challenge then it isn't a bad enough blown call to warrant a replay in the first place.

Yeah they need to change the way it is done. Just have NY check every call real time. They can buzz the HP ump if they need a few seconds to look at something and if you can't tell in a few seconds just move on.
Eliminate the whole challenge thing.

I'll go ahead and offer my opinion that replay >>>>>> no replay. Screw the human element.

I'd like managers to have to decide in 15 seconds, and only by talking to his guys in the dugout. No fucking replay specialist in the clubhouse.
And the replay should last 60 seconds. If NY doesn't have an answer in 60 seconds, it's inconclusive.

Mets fan told my Brooklyn born friend to go back to San Francisco. I'm in Sox hat. We both hate San Francisco. (well, living there anyway).

Joe Panik and Matt Duffy looked like two of the best young players to come along in years for the Giants. Now, one is traded and the other had a way down year. Injuries were involved with both. You never know.

They found the beer tosser

The Toronto beer tosser has allegedly been identified...and he works for a newspaper. http://www.torontosun.com/2016/10/05/toronto-police-investigating-beer-can-throw-at-jays-wild-card-game …

And this is perhaps my favorite tweet of the night

So, this week a newspaper offered a $1,000 bounty on the head of one of its company employees
One of the replies to the tweet has some pretty interesting video footage, they got the wrong guy. The guy that did it wasn't a guy at all but was a blond woman.

Worth noting that neither guy had a top pedigree, though.

Some strange comments on "Bruce's" Twitter feed about this. Including a bizzare one from him indicating he thinks everyone has thrown a beer can at some point in their life.
