California. Duh.
The Sharks went up 3-0 on the Kings, and before anyone could even make the "Sharks up 3-0, the Kings have them right where they want them" joke, SJ scored again 14 seconds later to make it 4-0.

Flyers played an excellent 2 periods and led Les Scabs 3-0, then they apparently left the rink without telling Ray Emery. Montreal wins 4-3 in the shootout. Tough schedule this month, this game and the Jersey game were points they needed to get.

Rags letting Stralman walk and signing Boyle for similar money was an epic blunder. not saying they are going to suck, but their defense will continue to be exposed.

So uh

Florida

Not so much with the fans.

SunGarrioch: The Panthers have announced 7,311. Lowest in franchise history. #Panthers #Sens

I don't know, in a way I feel for their fans, all five of them. 1 playoff appearance in 12 years, disinterested ownership, a terrible arena location. No team is going to draw well with those hurdles. Certainly the Blackhawks in the dying days of Dollar Bill had crowds that looked like that.

The problem is that the NHL has been screwing deserving markets (hey, Quebec!) in favor of teams like Florida, so their situation is going to get no sympathy. And the ceiling just isn't that high. The Sharks are good year after year, and get one-fifth the local ratings the Bruins get.

Not to spin this off on a tangent but... wee bit different given that Blackhawks games weren't even on TV in the local market thanks to Wirtz.

The Isles are a big threat in what appears to be a weak-ish Eastern Conference.  Snow killed it with those late d-man pickups.

Look at this speed burner turning Brooks Orpik into a turnstile.

Edit: I'm an idiot, how do you embed video's these days?

God am I glad I don't have to watch that in Pittsburgh any more.  Forget about not chasing Scott down, he's 30 feet out of position to start with.

Hey! That's United States Olympian Brooks Orpik to you!

Not really. I mean that's more than a little countered by a superior arena location (I doubt the Panthers draw so badly at the American Airlines Center in downtown Miami rather than at a place in the sticks) and by being an Original Six team with bags of history. What are the Panthers going to celebrate? Beezer and throwing some rats on the ice?

Orpik smokes his own goalie after too, which he of course uses as an excuse to perform is signature move: a haymaker/crosscheck to an unsuspecting opponent after the whistle, followed by skating away and then coming back for more after his teammates get there to hold the guy's arms down.

I think the only thing we see in common on that play is the crosscheck.  The rest is John Scott owning him and holding him at bay.  Your hatred for Orpik has literally blinded you.

You could incorporate that into the rat night. Pretty sure he was the one that killed the lucky rat. I picture it like pretzel night at the Isotopes game, with Mellanby filling in for Whitey Ford.

So the Oilers have given up 5+ goals in 3/4 games so far. They gave up 7 to Phoe-- Arizona last night.

This team might require it's own thread for how tremendously bad they are

It is a fair question. We all know that the hockey gets in the way of the main events which are the fights.
People come to see Shawn Thornton and John Scott not someone like Kessel or Seguin.

Edit: I suck at actually looking at Google results of names.
