I'd be happy to answer any questions (including those above), but I'm traveling today. I'll try to check back later today (or tomorrow) after I land and respond.
One quick one first: I had a guy at a workout a couple weeks ago. He was one of three or four guys at his position working out. After the workout, they went and took physicals and were sent to the dining area to eat. No one from the team talked to them after the workout, except to direct them to the physical exams and then to the dining area. They all eat, and after about a half hour, some team guy shows up and tells them to grab their stuff, he's taking them to the airport (aka, thanks for nothing). The three or four players lug their stuff to the parking lot and climb into the van. Before they pull out, the guy who is driving the van gets a call, chats for a few seconds and hangs up. He turns around and tells my guy to grab his bag and head back inside - he's getting signed.
Ok, two quick ones, actually: same guy was in a position group meeting a few days later during OTA's and one of his teammates was removed from the meeting - as the meeting is going on - and notified on the spot that he'd been cut and is going home now. The team claimed some guy on waivers that day and didn't have a roster spot, so someone had to go immediately.
Moral of the story is the logistics can be ugly sometimes.
