Both the Mets and Atlanta had no-hitters in the 8th inning. They both lost their games. Mets were tied and gave up 2 in T9. Atlanta was winning 1-0, and B9 started with a walk and a home run.
The Braves are 4 outs away from a combo no-no. Fried was a bit more impressive… Joe Jimenez is only throwing no-hit stuff because he's not getting anything over the plate.
Through 8… the Mets bailed out Jimenez so much it looked like they wanted the no-hitter preserved more than he did.
Down to their last out and the no-hitter – and shutout – is over thanks to JD Martinez, on the first pitch he sees from Iglesias.
Other no-hitters I found broken up with a home run, with two down in the ninth:

So does George Steinbrenner. The Halladay almost no no was in only his 2nd career start and also came on a first pitch.

They check pitchers regularly throughout every game. I think at the end of each inning. So it seems unlikely he was using during the no-hitter.
Yeah, imagine having to begin a Best-of-3 NL Wild Card series next year going against Skenes and Jared Jones? Gooooood luck.

Not early anymore. Ben Brown no hitter through 6. Bellinger just made a great catch at the wall to save it.
This is going to be interesting. No hitter through 7, 93 pitches. His previous high this season was 89
Brown was *cruising* through 4. I think he had something like 43 pitches. One bad inning with a few walks can really screw you up.

When you are a strikeout pitcher, in this day and age it's pretty hard to throw a complete game No-No.
