Good news though is it's not inconceivable at all that Hill could go another two innings at only 87 pitches.
Not with his health issues. He's more important for postseason than this.Good news though is it's not inconceivable at all that Hill could go another two innings at only 87 pitches.
I don't think he can. Matt Young had his stripped because he didn't go the full nine innings. Interesting thought exercise...what if that situation happened in the 10th? No-hitter or not?Now he can get a no-no and take a L.
If he could have gotten out of the 9th perfect on only 7 or 8 pitches, I think he could have gotten one more inning given the circumstances. Tough to pull anyone, even Hill, from a perfecto with less than 100 pitches. Not with his health issues. He's more important for postseason than this.
Nope.I don't think he can. Matt Young had his stripped because he didn't go the full nine innings. Interesting thought exercise...what if that situation happened in the 10th? No-hitter or not?
? It's a no-hitter if you pitch 9ip or more CG, no matter the score.Nope.
Funny thing is he (and Andy Hawkins) got credit for a complete game, but no no-hitter. Which is stupid.I don't think he can. Matt Young had his stripped because he didn't go the full nine innings. Interesting thought exercise...what if that situation happened in the 10th? No-hitter or not?
He got through with only 8 pitches, so he's probably coming out for the 10th at the minimum. If he could have gotten out of the 9th perfect on only 7 or 8 pitches, I think he could have gotten one more inning given the circumstances. Yep, MLB defines a no-hitter as a game where a team bats for at least nine innings without recording a hit.I don't think he can. Matt Young had his stripped because he didn't go the full nine innings. Interesting thought exercise...what if that situation happened in the 10th? No-hitter or not?
Nope, I was. Pitcher goes 9.2 and loses, it's a no-hitterWell he's gone 27 batters without a hit or a walk. I remember when Curt Schilling did that.
? It's a no-hitter if you pitch 9ip or more CG, no matter the score.
ed: i'm probably missing something
What do you get for that?Selfishly, I'm starting Hill in a couple of fantasy leagues that give bonuses for CG and SO and humongous bonuses for no-hitters and perfect games. Which I'm sure you were all dying to know.
