Damn you RO. I thought I had another round before I had to worry about him being picked. He has a great chance to see significant time this year and could possibly win the starting job in the pre season. I think a lot of teams are going to be asking themselves how they let this kid drop to the seventh round. Really nice pick.

That being said, my front seven is going to eat him alive.

You only get Drogo this round. Khalasar will need to be taken next round.

I'm not. But then, neither was Al. For most of the important decisions. I mean, he took a kicker in the fucking first round.

OK, this is what I'm going to do: I am taking the fastest rookie WR not yet drafted. Who is that? No fucking clue. Laddie thinks it's John Brown. I have never heard of John Brown.

Look, it's my birthday so I'm not really paying attention. Can I just pick the WR with the fastest 40 time who has not yet been picked? IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?????

That is John Brown - at a 4.34 40, he was just a tick behind Brandin Cooks' 4.33. And since he was a third-round pick, it's not even a reach. No arrests I've heard of, but he did flunk out of one college. That good enough?

OK, I PM'd Myt1. To boldify this, OFT's LA/Oakland/Barstow/Fresno/SLO Raiders are taking John Brown, WR, Pittsburg State / Cardinals.

In tribute to Al, here's a picture of him running the 40:

Geno Hayes OLB Jacksonville.

Good in coverage, Hayes had 77 tackles last year. He's built like a safety, so we may try to add a better run stopper later.

The Ravens have already added two first-round-pick rookie DBs, but you can never have too many DBs. The Ravens select Micah Hyde, CB, Packers.

Despite winning the Tatum-Woodson Award as the Big 10's best DB in 2012, Hyde was just a fifth-round pick. He quickly proved his value, filling in capably for the Packers after a rash of injuries to their DBs. B/R rated him the #24 CB last year in their NFL 1000 series - only Trufant and Mathieu rated higher among rookie corners. PFF graded him +3.2, and that's with -3.4 in his first two weeks dragging his rating down. At 23, he's as young as or younger than many of the rookies available at this point in the draft.

Hyde is a versatile player, playing both corner and safety at Iowa. Last year he played a lot of nickel and dime, but at 6'0" he's got the size to play outside as well. He's a terrific tackler for a DB, so the Packers are working him at safety to try to get him in the lineup. He's also an excellent special-teamer, averaging 12.3 yards per punt return, 24.1 yards per kick return, and also played in kick coverage. Oh, and he can act (he's the dude getting shot in the video below). What can't he do (OK, his hands need work)?

Nice pick SN. I was also looking at Hyde. Like you said he's versatile enough to play corner and safety as well as being a great ST'er. He's a good depth pick with starter potential.

No PM needed, I'm here and will have pick up shortly.

Texans will shore up their OL by selecting Chris Watt, OG - ND/Chargers.

He's thrilled by his selection.

2 year starter at LG that saw a lot of play in his sophomore season as well.

Michael Bowie, G/T, Seahawks.  A small school kid picked in the 7th round, Bowie more than held his own when thrown into the fire last year at RT after Breno Giacomini got hurt.  He can play both inside and outside and also saw time at both LG and RG.  Even with the drafting of Justin Britt in the 2nd round, Bowie seems like the favorite to start at RT this year but also could get kicked inside.  With only five linemen on my squad, I need to add depth on the OL and Bowie's youth and positional versatility make him an attractive addition.

The Chargers select:

Larry Webster, DE

He is a pure pass rushing DE, though he might also get a look at TE in Detroit.  Either way I could use a player at either of those positions.  After running 4.58 in the combine he was the most explosive DL in the draft after Clowney.  This is a high risk, high reward type of pick on a former DII basketball player, but one I'm willing to take at this point.

The Saints select S Rafael Bush

We needed to completely retool our safety position and Bush has decent upside.  Hoping he continues to develop from 3rd safety to a true starter.

The ElCab Dolphins need to add some depth to our secondary.

We select Dimitri Patterson CB NYJ

He had great numbers last year, including 4 INTs in only 6 games played. The problem? He can't seem to stay on the field. At this point, Dimitri and the Dolphins pray that he stays healthy. He had offseason groin surgery, but Rex has already given him the lead as the corner opposite our other guy, Dee Milliner. We'll take a shot that he stays on the field and can be a competent #3 CB for us.

At this point I'm just looking for depth since I have all of my starters in place. I was looking for a situational pass rusher who can get pressure inside and out and I think I found a guy who fits that perfectly.

The Patriots select Karl Klug, DT Tennessee Titans

At 6'3" 280 lb he's a little undersized for a DT but he still manages to get a ton of pressure with great technique and an explosive first step, consistently driving offensive linemen back into the QB. He has a nonstop motor and is always making plays when on the field. Unfortunately he's played sparingly for Tennessee since being drafted in 2011 but B/R had him ranked as the 17th best DT last year grading him extremely well on his pass rush ability. The addition of Ray Horton as the DC down there bodes well for his productivity moving forward. I like what he brings to my defensive scheme because I think he adds to my ability to throw out a few different looks. I now have a ton of guys who like to get to the QB and I have one of the deepest front sevens in the league.

I'm here. Pick will be up shortly.

The Bears select OT Michael Schofield.

Played a fuckton of games at Michigan as an OT - profiles as a RT in the NFL. He isn't a big-time athlete, but he's got size, toughness and pedigree. I'm hoping he can contribute at RT across from King Dunlap.

The Sentinels select Caraun Reid, DT, Princeton

I love this kid.  Princeton's first two-time All-American in 20 years.  He's young, having enrolled at Princeton when only 17.  So he's still growing and currently at 6'2" 302.  Detroit drafted him to watch and learn behind Suh/Fairley as a DT in a 4-3, and I'm basically doing the same with him.  He can watch and learn behind Richardson/Fairley, spelling them at times.  Also has 7 blocked kicks in his career so he can contribute right away on special teams.

And if things get down in the locker room, he was a bass singer in Princeton's Old NasSoul.  A jaunty tune to lift spirits never hurts.

Huge binky of mine. So what if he needs 1-3 years to develop? High ceiling guy at this point in the draft is fantastic. I overdrafted him in our mock 3rd round. Still, love the upside, man. Perhaps we can introduce him to the world at Seacrets?

Awesome.

Yeah, I love this kid.  Think he's a good fit in Detroit and a good fit for me.  Just hopes he learns the right things from Suh/Fairley.

James White, RB (New England)

A Patriot player not overdrafted? That's unpossible! I'm shocked this guy is still available and totally pleased to add his pass catching and running ability to the Bengal Bay Bengals offense.

Jacquian Williams, LB, RL-NYG. He's going to play WLB - he's got amazing speed. He excels in coverage. Grumpy is trying to motivate him by giving him camp competition but he should win out. If he doesn't he can alternate with Arthur Brown.

He's the 8th best coverage linebacker of the 4-3's according to PFF in 2013. He ranks top 8, top 12, in all their signature stats. He's a smaller LB but should give us around average production. He's hurt a bit - but when he is healthy he has a high ceiling. And he's healthy right now and is exploding in OTA's which means jack shit lol.

We have a slight problem... Manny Lawson is a standard SLB in a 4-3 defense. He's an average starter there who is better at stopping the run and rushing the passer than in coverage. This year BUF is switching him to a 4-3 DE. We plan on using him as a hybrid 4-3 DE/OLB/SLB role. Possibly a nascar Spikes type of role too. He could easily be a standard average starter at SLB. We'd prefer keeping him that way. It's obvious from his history what his production would be... fucking Buffalo.

Edit: I am pretty excited to get Williams here as I think he has proven himself enough that he's at least better than average LB depth. Arthur Brown had a year of learning but we're not sure he gets the starting job. If anything Brown is a great nickle LB - Williams too. We need one of these guys to step up and we want 2 WLB's who are strong against the pass in coverage.

WTF is a "nascar Spikes" role?

Is that where you pretend Spikes can only turn left (slowly)?
