Dalbec is the incumbent SS.So with Turner and Gurriel on board, Dalbec would seem to be headed out of town (but maybe just to Worcester).
No way Casas is being traded in this situationThe bad news is he is 38 and sucked last year (OPS at .647), but the good news is he seems to alternate having great years every other year and he won a batting title ans gold glove in 2021 at 37.
I would imagine that Dalbec or Casas is on the move?
Good point. Didn't know that about Swanson.Cora also followed Dansby Swanson on Instagram and this Kelley reported the Sox had signed him. Not a real source and is most likely a parody account.
if there was we would have heard something by now. Like W/ correa. Or Like with NapoliMakes you wonder if the Turner deal has issues?
That's what I'm nervous about if this is indeed happening. Are his services in demand or something? Seems like someone who could slip through into a minor league deal. The thing I’d be nervous about if I were you guys is if this happens, the next move being Casas to MIA in a deal for a pitcher and a SS.
Yep, the thread was locked and reopened after the Baerga post.I know Baerga has also posted something - but that initial Twitter account is a troll/fake account.
Go down his timeline and it’s very obvious to tell.
So the off-season and acquisitions are done with this? I guess the Raffy resigning honeymoon only lasted a couple days. Why would we waste our time with this guy? Even if he plays well, this team is unlikely to seriously compete for a championship next year. It's not like he's the missing piece that will put us over the top, and at his age, by the time that we have a stronger roster, he's going to be long gone. Just give the at bats to Casas so he can gain experience and we can learn whether he can be a real contributor.
We were not allowed to have opinions about what the front office might be doing because they signed Raffy? I guess I won't bother with this forum until the season starts. So the off-season and acquisitions are done with this? I guess the Raffy resigning honeymoon only lasted a couple days.
You're right, he's not the missing piece. Assuming for a moment that Dalbec may not be in the plans, you'll still need a back up at 1B and it's not like Casas is going to play 162 games. The season's a grind and if he hits a wall, there can be more confidence to be lost than gained if you send him out every day during a particularly bad stretch. Why would we waste our time with this guy? You are allowed all the opinions. Basing an opinion on their team not likely to be competing for,the postseason, when there are still two months of off season left, feels premature to me. As has all the wailing since the off-season began. We were not allowed to have opinions about what the front office might be doing because they signed Raffy?
