Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports has clarified that the Red Sox do not have an agreement with Byung-ho Park. Rather, they have a working agreement with Parks’ team, the Nexen Heroes.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that the Red Sox have a working agreement with Korean first baseman Byung-ho Park. NBC Sports.
Interesting. If they won the posting fee it seems likely they'll sign Ho-Park.

Buh bye, Hanley?

From earlier, either Passan or NBC sports or both have been hitting the sauce today:

You'd think NBC would independently confirm a rumor before running with it. But then again, the folks employed Brian Williams.

I'm amazed and impressed that we still don't know which team won the bidding.

edit: unless we do and I just missed it.

According to Heyman tweets, Oakland, Seattle and Arizona can be crossed off

Olney:

This is not a confirmation, but some rival evaluators believe that Oakland won the bidding for Byung-ho Park. Again: Not confirmation.

It would be worth having an international draft just to get rid of all this bullshit speculation.

Interesting for the Twins. They already have a bit of a logjam at the corners, with Plouffe (last year of control), Mauer and Sano. They are having Sano play OF in the winter league. But they could make Plouffe available...

Yea I can see Park being an improvement on the corners. Plouffee's trade value hasnt been any higher than this point, so I can see him being shipped off. Sano has played 3rd before, thus making Mauer the full time DH. Its possible, I guess.
