The bit with the Jets banner guy was pretty awful. He was an idiot who brought up a history of cheating and the Ravens substation thing and nobody challenged him. Then he got all passive saying it was in good fun.

But them having Matt Light on after helped. He's such a great guest and not just because he's so pro-patriots. He had some interesting things on the union and Goodell in there

I guess the plan was to blindside the guy with Matt light but Light called in really late so the bit blew up in their faces. Once Light got on the phone the banner guy said it was all in good fun and Light wasn't even mad and said it was kind of funny. It definitely did not go as they planned it.

Yeah, I think Fred was comparing it to sharknado on Twitter. So bad, but almost so bad it's funny.

In addition, to their credit they (T&R) admitted that they knew it sucked a few minutes into it and that it didn't go their way.  Fred tried to bail and Rich was pissed and then Light called in and it didn't get better.

Yeah, that was a train wreck. They brought on a guy trolling Pats fans, allowed him to continue trolling, and then they and Matt Light backed off and it was just everything bad that could have possibly happened.

Just a train wreck.

I'm shocked at how good Wallach is at these raps, he KILLED Fred today.

I dunno. "I shot the bird down" has been stuck in my head for the last few hours.

I think it was close.  Wallach's song selection and chorus were great, but his delivery and some of the lines weren't on the same level of his previous raps.

After the first listen I thought Keefe was the runaway winner, but after hearing them again Fred's wasn't too bad.  Still leaning towards Keefe though, the inclusion of the Dick Flavin bridge put it over the top for me.

The Dick Flavin stuff is the hardest I've laughed in a while.

Damnit, i missed Angry Flavin again! To the podcast!

I think Keefe's was extremely good. Fred was playing by a different set of rules, but wasn't nearly as strong.

Chachi, Stephanie, Felger all top it off.

I think Rich's Tanguay lines alone have me on Fred's side.

I got out of the car just before he went on. I'll have to go listen.

I think I'm on Keefe's side.

That "Vote for Keeeefe," hook had subliminal messaging. I had a very "Yvan eht nioJ" vibe from it.

Did Fred continue his bitching after the winner was announced? had to turn it off right as they took the break before announcing it. The lead in to the announcement was hilarious, you know he's going to carry a grudge on this forever. The most knowledgeable hip hop guy on the station is now 0/3

Fred's rap was better, his delivery was better, his flow was WAY better, and he brought an overall level of artistry and musicality that Keefe couldn't match.

But the thing is, nobody anywhere would ever buy an album nor a concert ticket to hear any of these guys rap. That's not what it's about.

Keefe broke the rules, his rapping sucked, his word-play and flow were nonexistent, but...

1. He got Mazz to say "boob"

2. He got Chachi

3. He got Fred's wife

Keee cheated, but he totally wins. Fred's submission followed the rules, and it was a much better rap, but this was not an artistic competition, and Keefe's submission was the better 98-mile entry, hands-down.

Fred is always able to coax some fun out of Roche. Don't know if it would work 5 days a week but it sure works on a now-and-then basis

Yep, I haven't laughed so hard at anything as I did at the circumcision question at 8:05 (for you podcast people). Roche's answer is...unexpected.

I love Rochie. I think he's basically the happiest guy in the world. He knows he's a little out there but he is completely comfortable with who he is.

I haven't laughed that hard listening to T&R for a long time.  I laughed hard twice in the car, first time was when Fred told Breer no deflategate talk and Roache talked over him "SO YOU THINK BRADY WILL GET OVERTURNED" or something, and then the circumcision question.  That was awesome.

I was in the car during the 8 am hour and good lord was that first segment hilarious. Circumcision and Roche's awkwardness over the "who would you want to have sex with?" question.

The thing is: I'm not sure he IS out there. I fear he's a reflection of every massively boring sheltered white persons existence.

The Rock is a perfectly acceptable answer to the question, BTW.

I think it was Ryan Johnston and Mike Flynn today, but your point stands either way.

I heard Flynn on the crossover, but I swore it was Jones.

But yeah, I got two minutes of "you know, David Ortiz, AT his age, SHOULDN'T be hitting home runs... FURTHER than he ever has, especially after... CALLING out ARod".  I realize that it's August and the only local team that's playing is a dumpster fire.  But really?  Obnoxious steroid accusations?

No thanks.  No thanks.

edit: added Jones' annoying inflections

That's exactly when I shut it off.  Some scorching hot takes from Jones this morning.  He really sucks.

And didn't he say just before that backhanded swipe that Ortiz' average distance this year is just UNDER" his career average?  Besides, he should have said "farther".

I wasn't paying rapt attention, but there was some mention of distance.  And the "further/farther" thing is most likely my mistake.  Or maybe not, as I have less faith in his knowledge of the difference between the words as I do in mine.

David Ortiz is manna from heaven for bored sports talkers. Either he's under performing and "doesn't care" or "dogs it" or "lost it". Or he does well and he's "back" on the juice because "how can he do this?"

Either way, the moral high ground is reachable for these schlubs.

They'd mentioned it a few months ago. They also mentioned it when F&M first did it and said they never would, it doesn't fit the show at all, but who knows? Money talks.
