Washington
When Judge started smiling in that last AB, I had a feeling he would put another one out. Good things happen when he looks relaxed at the plate.

The Rays and Yankees have both blown 6-0 leads to each other now (and gone on to lose those games). AL East is intense

It must have happened before (right?) but does anyone remember a team 5 games over .500 being in last place in the wild card era? Or any mlb era

NY has the 8th best record in MLB, 5th in the AL East (barely).

I wonder if AL Central team execs have real conversations about missing the imbalanced schedule

That run by Volpe to cut it to 6-5 was so impressive, bunt single, two stolen bases, scores on a wild pitch.

Peraza is finally back, playing in AAA today. He evidently made a sparkling play at SS to start the game, then hit a homer in his first AB.

There we go, two run homers for Cabrera and Rizzo give NY a 4-3 lead.

With that above stat, I'm curious why the Yankees would bring him in with the bases loaded? He obviously pitches better with a clean inning.
I mean, that's a pretty small sample size, especially since it was 8 of 13 before the grand slam yesterday. More relevantly, they had almost no one in the bullpen available yesterday who was any good. Most importantly, Boone and whoever else is making the calls there are absolutely horrible at managing a bullpen.

I recommend Yankee fans not even look at the two lineups today, between that and the two pitchers, this is as much of a giveaway game as NY will ever have.

Judge was 1 for 19 against Manoah before that, both hits now have been solo HRs.

I am only a few innings into this but David Cone is Usain Bolt-level way ahead of every other Yankee announcer, please somehow get him on more.

Judge with a monster bomb to center. Gone from the moment it left his bat. 462 feet.

Was just coming here to ask about that because there's been a ton of questions about it after the game. That's ridiculously weak stuff.

Not even sure why that matters, Will Middlebrooks confirmed that TOR was using Pitchcom at the time, and Kirk's signs were dummy signs so why would it matter where the NY coaches were?

Is the catcher calling the pitches with PitchCon? Or does the bench call them directly? Or use signals to the catcher who uses the buttons?

if the latter, I can see how signs can still be stolen. IIRc, not many catchers call their own games

But if they were stolen due to a non-electronic step in the process, what is the issue? Non-electronic sign stealing is the status quo, right

I don't think there's time for the bench to be involved anymore, and I think Middlebrooks would have broached that in his Twitter posts about this if it was a possibility, I think it's just the catcher or pitcher (it can go both ways as of this year).

There’s going to be a brawl at some point in this series. Boone vs. Schneider will set it in motion.
