I have not posted anything about the trade of Mookie because I wasn’t a member when that happened, but damn I miss Mookie and I get increasingly frustrated with the post-Mookie Era…. This team is ruderless. It has no big toe, it is adrift in a sea of sub replacement level shit with no leadership.

Ok rant over. Let’s get our shit together Sox and practice tagging second cuz small shit like that matters.

The remaining April schedule has no one close to as good as Baltimore: LAA, CLE, @PIT, @CLE, CHC, SF.

They should stay on the edge of contention with that schedule for awhile... but Raffy probably has to be 100% to make it happen, and I just have a feeling he won't be all this year.

Really embarrassing efforts all the way around from the top to the proverbial bottom.

That game was so fucked up in so many different ways that it is hard to know where to begin. The truth was the pitching was for the most part great. But the defense since story went down, has been all sorts of awful.

Bloom really decimated this team. He made a few good moves but the Story and Yoshida signings look worse by the day.
That's the thing - how much of this was truly Bloom, who didn't seem like much of a leader at hte end of the day, and how much of it was Eddie Romero, Scott O'Halloran, and that brain trust at the top? The Red Sox scouting group in Japan that thought Yoshida would be the next Ichiro?

You know... the same group that might have grossly misevaluated Mookie's 2021 onwards?

In some alternate universe, the Orioles just lost Henderson, Holliday, Mountcastle, Mullins, Cowser, and Rutschman to horrific, knee-exploding, career-ending injuries -- all one after another, on different consecutive plays, and Joe Buck, who was calling that game, sadly proclaimed "and the Orioles' future has ended just as quickly as it has arrived..."

And we all laughed our fucking asses off. Fuck the Orioles.

This bullpen is a reflection of the refusal to actually add starting pitchers. Even before Giolito went down, we needed more arms. Instead we convert maybe our only 2 reliable relief arms outside of Jansen into starters (again) and damn look: the bullpen sucks now.
A-fucking-men.

The good news is Bailey looks* like the real deal to me and he is probably sticking around. Just need to acquire a lot more talent.

* Bit worried the league will figure out this no four seamer playbook once it gets around the league more.

Campbell (2.83 era, 1.22 whip, 10.4 k/9 last year) sure is working out so far this season for Boston.....

Whitlock and Slaten were really good
Seems like it was a different game… the suck really does distort the good things that are happening (but may not be able to overcome the suck. I hope I am wrong) Either way, thanks for the reminder that certain things are going ok

Looking more and more like that west coast swing was just the result of playing maybe the two worst teams in the AL, because this doesn’t look like a playoff contender at all.
It's going to be a long year. They won't suck completely but the rest of the division is just too good.

The Orioles are really fucking good.

I am still very depressed after this series. I like Campbell and think he will be fine, but the last two days were bad bad bad.

I still love this team, but man did this series fucking suck.

Red Sox were winning at a .700 clip with Bobby Dalbec on the roster (and all road games and all losses were by only 1 run)
Red Sox are winning at a .000 clip with Bobby Dalbec in AAA (and all home games)

I really feel that if there's one thing we can take away from the last three days, one nugget to keep in our collective back pocket as we navigate these final 149 games together; this is it: The Orioles are really fucking good. That's what I got from this, anyway.
