Perhaps. It would be unusual for him to make the plane trip if he had no chance to play.Is this a function of a Thursday game out, Sunday he'd be playing? Let's be extra careful?
Maybe they needed a bartender.Perhaps. It would be unusual for him to make the plane trip if he had no chance to play.
If him sitting out Week 5 adds 1% to the likelihood he’s available for the playoff run, I’m all for holding him out. Frankly I’d be fine if they bubble wrapped him until week 12.Maybe they needed a bartender.
Anyway, thigh contusion...I mean, I know it’s always easy to act like an internet tough guy, but that really seems like an injury you want your star players to battle through. I suppose we don’t know the level and I’m sure it’s painful, but...
If it was painful enough to alter his gait/running stride, you don't want him out there accommodating for it and because of that he tweaks his backMaybe they needed a bartender.

Don't you think the short week was the reason he sat? If he had a couple extra days of treatment those things tend to go away.If it was painful enough to alter his gait/running stride, you don't want him out there accommodating for it and because of that he tweaks his back
In a playoff game, sure. In a regular season non-conference game coming off a short week where a hobbling Gronk would definitely be noticed by the opposition (and targeted accordingly), I would say it's OK that he was asked to take a seat.Maybe they needed a bartender.

This is one of those times you should have just said, "You know what Ed, if I post this I'm going to look like an idiot," and just deleted it.Maybe they needed a bartender.

Oh absolutely I think he probably would have played during a regular weekDon't you think the short week was the reason he sat? If he had a couple extra days of treatment those things tend to go away.
It's a thigh contusion. No idea when it happened but Gronk is certainly at his "made of glass" phase of his career.
You guys are wrong and are just purposely being obtuse. Gronk plays harder than any football player I've ever seen. The guy gives his whole body on every play. It's what makes him the greatest TE of all time and one of the best football players on the planet. It's been one long phase.
The why is known ... there's even a post about itBrady not at practice, the why is unknown.
I’m worried about his kid. He mentioned he had personal issues a few weeks back.Solder absence NOT injury related
What did he say, I missed itPer Reiss doesn’t sound like Mitchell is close. Still a chance Valentine and McClellin return
Where are you guys getting the Reiss stuff on Mitchell? I'm not seeing it.
"Meanwhile, my sense is that receiver Malcolm Mitchell, who was placed on IR on Sept. 7 (knee), is not close to being a consideration to begin practicing at this point, if at all this year."What did he say, I missed it
Oh man that blows. Fucking preseason claims another one."Meanwhile, my sense is that receiver Malcolm Mitchell, who was placed on IR on Sept. 7 (knee), is not close to being a consideration to begin practicing at this point, if at all this year."

What can you gather that may be wrong with his knee other than everything?Oh man that blows. Fucking preseason claims another one.
We're trending into "Matthew Slater getting reps at WR" territory all too predictably...
Thanks. As DRS said (more colorfully), that's a shame for Mitchell."Meanwhile, my sense is that receiver Malcolm Mitchell, who was placed on IR on Sept. 7 (knee), is not close to being a consideration to begin practicing at this point, if at all this year."

Going forward, this season will be our go to example for when people scratch their heads about too much depth at some positions going into the season. And we thought we had too many WR
I really have no idea. He got hit from behind by one of his own teammates if I remember correctly and it didn't seem like much at the time, but I couldn't glean too much from the mechanism of injury at the timeWhat can you gather that may be wrong with his knee other than everything?
You mean the Falcons are not going to repeat the Jets’ stupidity and stay away from Bademosi whole focusing on Butler’s man?Um, just saying but it would be nice to have those dudes in our defensive backfield before Sunday.
That’s, um, not good. Ryan could go for 400 yards.Gilmore and Rowe out again today. Odds of them playing aren't great. Yippee!!!!!
In the first half. That’s, um, not good. Ryan could go for 400 yards.
His arm might get tired? Has any football team tried a rope-a-dope strategy yet?But the second half . . .
The BrownsHis arm might get tired? Has any football team tried a rope-a-dope strategy yet?
He has seemed pretty banged up for several weeks now. I remain concerned about him basically every week.Any worries about Hogan for Sunday? He sort of disappeared after the big jolt he took last week vs the Jets, and rib injuries aren't easy to overcome.
Unless I was hallucinating, he returned to the game after the hit.Any worries about Hogan for Sunday? He sort of disappeared after the big jolt he took last week vs the Jets, and rib injuries aren't easy to overcome.
