Green Bay?
Asked Richard Sherman what he’s looking for in his next team: “Looking for a great fit. A team that has a great QB. Looking for somewhere I will be comfortable.” Who fits that description?
At least the first non-New England response wasn’t San Francisco (though I realize they have a good QB and one of his old defensive coaches).Green Bay?
"Somewhere I will be comfortable" is interesting - wonder if that points towards some of the ex-Seattle spots like Atlanta (Dan Quinn) or San Diego (Gus Bradley) or Dallas (Kris Richard).

Pittsburgh is over the cap.Foxboro would be great, but first and foremost anywhere but Pittsburgh. I don't think they have the cap room though. Saints and Green Bay honesty makes the most sense
What did you witness first hand? After witnessing first hand what a piece of shit this guy is, I want no part of rooting for him.
Sure. He did with Revis and Browner, no? Or were the numbers lower than what we are talking here? My memory is fuzzy but I seem to recall it wasn't inexpensive. With Gilmore on the books, would Belichick really devote the money it would take to have 2 premium FAs back there at CB?
Related question, why would Sherman consider a Revis-in-2014 style prove-it deal? He has a ring and very little to prove, and deservedly expects top dollar. Is coming back from a ruptured Achilles tendon that severe a blow to his market value?
No, Sherman wants to go to the team that burned Atlanta down. So, you're saying he's going to the Falcons?
Does that injury mean if he's nominated, he will not run?Related question, why would Sherman consider a Revis-in-2014 style prove-it deal? I play poker regularly at a casino here in Seattle and half of the poker room was dedicated to Sherman with a craps table and baccarat table. During the season he would be in there at least 3 times per week with his posse getting obliterated, blasting music and acting like thugs. He would threaten the dealers when he would lose and there were multiple incidents where they had to shut down the room (one where his uncle threw a glass against the wall behind the dealers and smashed glass all over them). Sherman never once reigned in his behavior nor accepted responsibility for the actions of his crew. What did you witness first hand?

Clearly, he's waiting to see where Nick Foles ends up before making a decision.

Might be more accurate to say that the article declares “Richard Sherman is not a thug and anyone who claims otherwise is a racist.” Frankly, I’ll trust a first hand account from a member here a hell of a lot more than an article full of platitudes from a writer with an agenda.https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/4705030
This article asks, "Is Richard Sherman a thug?"
The issue isn't whether or not he's a dick. It's the usage of a word that is basically a dog-whistle shaped like letters.Might be more accurate to say that the article declares “Richard Sherman is not a thug and anyone who claims otherwise is a racist.” Frankly, I’ll trust a first hand account from a member here a hell of a lot more than an article full of platitudes from a writer with an agenda.
Sherman is one of the best corners of all time and he went to Stanford. It doesn’t naturally follow that he’s not a dick.
No one is up in arms. But the term "thug" should be am obvious dog whistle at this point. The article I responded to talks about people calling Sherman a thug based on an interview he gave. And in that context, the writer is correct to defend Sherman. The problem I have is that this has absolutely nothing to do with the observations that were shared here.
Personally, I would not have used that term because of the loaded connotations that you mentioned. (This is why I called him a dick.). At the same time, the behavior that was witnessed fits the writer's definition of what a "thug" is. So I'm not sure what people are getting up in arms about.

Well, as I've always figured, my ignorance knows no bounds. No one is up in arms. But the term "thug" should be am obvious dog whistle at this point.
Sorry, totally off-topic here, but I really don't know these things."Dog-whistle politics is political messaging employing coded language that appears to mean one thing to the general population but has an additional, different, or more specific resonance for a targeted subgroup. ... The analogy is to a dog whistle, whose high-frequency whistle is heard by dogs but inaudible to humans."
When it comes to empathy, we're all lifetime learners.Well, as I've always figured, my ignorance knows no bounds.
From reading the article posted above, I assume the word "thug" is now how us white-folk racially insult black people, instead of using the other word?
I 100% honestly never knew that and also have never heard the term "dog-whistle" either, but from the limited google research, lasting a total of 18 seconds, this is what I came up with:
Sorry, totally off-topic here, but I really don't know these things.
You should ask yourself whether you really think I was using that term as a "dog whistle" on this site of all places. I think you're jumping the gun a bit brah.No one is up in arms. But the term "thug" should be am obvious dog whistle at this point.
A ton of Pats players kneeled for the anthem in the game after Trump made it an issue and it was handled in New England with a whole lot more grace than in many other NFL cities. Not to mention the number of Pats players who skipped the White House, including Brady. I don’t think there is any evidence the Pats would try to muzzle Sherman regarding political or social issues he felt strongly about. Basically the rules he would have to abide by is don’t talk shit about an upcoming opponent and don’t give away anything gameplan wise. I’m not saying he’s definitely coming here by any stretch but this post is absurd.I don't think Richard Sherman, who is a very outspoken player regarding political and other social issues, will come to New England. The QB/HC/Owner all support the president and require the players to fall in line and keep their mouths shut, which I don't think Sherman is willing to do in this point of his career. Add in the Malcolm Butler screwjob and the reports of a terrible lockerroom enviroment last year, I think some star players will shy away from here.
Richard Sherman to San Fran.
Browner was on a nominal 3-year deal with no signing bonus and heavy incentives each year. He earned $3.9M in 2014, the Pats didn't pick up his $2M option for 2015, and he then left.Sure. He did with Revis and Browner, no? Or were the numbers lower than what we are talking here? My memory is fuzzy but I seem to recall it wasn't inexpensive.
Indeed, it’s not about the things themselves but about professionalism and distractions. Take care of football, let nothing interfere with football, and they’re fine.A ton of Pats players kneeled for the anthem in the game after Trump made it an issue and it was handled in New England with a whole lot more grace than in many other NFL cities. Damn, cuz.Belichick will actually let players get away with murder as long as it doesn’t interfere with practice.
Are we allowed to say Hernandez acted like a thug? Or was he a thug?Belichick will actually let players get away with murder as long as it doesn’t interfere with practice.
The Revis blueprint did work out pretty well for Revis and the Pats. Not so much for the Jets. It’s a realistic possibility, particularly if teams are hesitant to give him a big contract coming off a significant injury.Calling it now, Pats for 2/25, but the second year is a non-guaranteed salary the Pats would never pick up
I’m here for this. No, Sherman wants to go to the team that burned Atlanta down.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_ThugThere are, however, actual thugs in this world.
