I shouldn't be scared by this transaction but why do I think there's more to it. Like Sweeney giving up a mid round pick like its candy. Does San Jose have any AHL enforcers on the roster?

I'm not kidding, if it's Jones for Scott, I'm done with these two clownsticks.

You know the return is going to make Scott look like a best case scenario...

How does it get any worse than a fourth line of Scott-Talbot-Rinaldo?
When Claude rolls that out as his 3rd line

May not be a good idea to piss off the Kings, who apparently didn't want Jones in their conference (let alone division). Less trading partners means more Hamilton-style deals.

Not holding my breath for much more than a 4th.

Kuraly is another Miami (OH) guy.

Intriguing and a definite win - solidifies the Lucic transaction a great one

deep inside Guido territory
Kuraly really shined in the USHL with Indiana before heading to Miami(OH).  Hasn't really put up the numbers in college as originally thought(only 29 pts in 40 games this year) but is still a good prospect.

And he has some size. 6'2 almost 210 pounds at the center position.

So Sweeney must have someone else handling transactions in CA right?

Basically fleeced LAK and SJ and yet bent over for PHI and CAL.  Just doesn't make any sense.

He's like a drunk in a bar fight, take a punch, throw a punch.

If you asked me what I thought we'd fetch for Looch at the start of the offseason, two firsts and two prospects would never have crossed my mind. Hell of a return. Don needed a win and it looks like he's got one.

Nice trade, even just for the 1st.  I'll sit back and wait for the gnashing of teeth 6 months from now when everyone is complaining that we should have held on to Jones and traded Rask or Subban.  Jones is going to be very good.

Personally I call that trade a win just for the first. The prospect is an added bonus

And it has a non-zero chance of being the top pick.  (but maybe so close to 0 you call it 0?)
