Wow he was looking slim and still came in at 260? This reminds me a bit of Chris Byrd v Klitschko. Remember that one?

These guys have a ton of skill. Can’t remember seeing two heavyweights that could move and box like this.

Don’t think the ref should’ve called the fight, but calling that knockdown at that point might’ve cost Usyk the ko.

10-8 round likely the difference in the fight. Rematch either way, and deservedly so. Wonder if Tyson comes in heavier.

Fury is one of my favorite fighters of all time, but impossible not to be happy for Usyk, who deserved the win. Great week for Ukrainian fights. Crazy both these guys were in the war last year.

Usyk has to be considered an all time great now. Came up from cruiserweight and beat two giants in Fury and Joshua. I didn’t think we’d ever see another heavyweight champ under 6’4.

Edit - don’t like that comment from Fury about Usyk getting the decision because of the war.

Opposite to Marciano, fury is top 5 least favorite fighters ever for me. Always been an unprofessional piece of shit.

All the credit to Usyk. I don't think there's any doubt he's a goat. What a performance/career. All timer.

Wilder/Zhang is tomorrow night. At the weigh-in, Wilder came in at 214.6 lbs. Zhang weighed in at.... 282.8 lbs.

For reference, there was roughly a 40 lb difference between Wilder and Fury in each of their fights. And apparently this is relatively svelte for Zhang, who has weighed in at like 291 in his previous fight. I didn't realize how huge this guy is.

Is there a reason why the heavy weights don't put more muscle on their legs? I get it for the lower weight classes, where keeping weight down matters. But for the big boys, with no weight limits, I'd have thought it would be helpful to have a stronger base? Anyways, au revoir, Bronze Bomber.

The NY commission changed haney garcia into a no contest and suspended garcia.

Haney then proceeded to celebrate returning to become an undefeated fighter...and it has not gone over well with the internet.

Tank knows how to pick opponents, weight, etc.

All Loma fights typically fall into the "i wish he was a little younger for this fight"

Not a good combination for this.

I'd argue he's one of the most underrated fighters of all time. I think the view of his career is clouded by fighting/hanging on so long at the end.

That and being the last heavyweight champion before the super heavies took over. The fact that he hung in there as a jumped up cruiser weight against Lennox is insane in hindsight.

Yes. In an era of toe to toe. Dude is a legend/physical freak.

Oh yes but also sooo many steroids. But one of the first boxers to actually weight train effectively (with Lee Haney and maybe Fred Hatfield but I could be making that up). And the dude like healed his own heart. It’s kinda wild how he ends up just a footnote or a character in bigger fighter’s stories.

That fight with Qawi isn’t quite Hagler Hearns or Castillo Corrales but it’s not far away.

I have never seen anyone get hit with that many uppercuts.

Actually, that was true sometime in the 4th. And I was a Bs fan in the LB days!

Dubois destroyed AJ. Wasnt much of a fight.

One of the biggest wasted potential in boxing history imo. AJ is rich so he wont care but god damn. So many all time greats wouldve killed to have his physical gifts.

Chin’s a physical gift too and he doesn’t have much of one.

Very true. He's just a very stupid fighter and frustrating. He's always driven me crazy. So the knockout, he gets a half ass right in that Dubois back steps a bit from. Instead of thinking let's build from this, the moron goes full guns blazing coming forward. Given all that has just happened in the fight, why in the hell would you do that?

If you really did something. Take your time and try to extend the fight and get him out later. You're already down on the cards, a decision win is impossible.

Just a stupid stupid fighter.

The absolute worst part of this is AJ will come back and win the rematch. Because of course he will.

Beyond that, and I just saw the highlight I posted, but look how low AJ drops his left hand every single time he throws his right and Dubois finally caught him with it. Just sloppy.

He does this when he's in trouble. Been doing it for years.

I dont watch as much boxing as i want/used to. But one thing i noticed around 10 or so years ago was a decline in fighters knowing how to fight hurt/in trouble.

Interesting. I’d imagine it’s because top fighters are handled so careful they often haven’t been hurt or seriously challenged until they’re in bigger fights. I wonder if sparring is also lighter nowadays given what’s known about cte.

You nailed it on both points. I didn't mean to present it in a negative light. Obviously, having experience while fighting concussed or hurt isnt a good thing. It's just noticeable to me.

Oh I didn’t take it that way at all. It’s in interesting problem and question. Like in football it’s really hard to find that balance between health and sport.

Bivol v Beterbiev should be an awesome fight. Haven’t been this excited for a fight, well besides Usyk Fury, in a long time.

I was just thinking about this. I feel the same. This is a massive massive fight. And both these guys arent way past their primes like Floyd and Manny.
