Has he stopped eating completely?!

It was only a matter of time before the public at large was exposed to the inevitable 'Performance-Enhancing Lipo' scandal.

Skinny CC is unnerving, in a Rokerish, Sharptonian, Jonah Hilly kind of way.

That is most definitely lap band or gastric bypass. He would have had to lose 80lbs by the looks of it in 3-4 months. Doable, but not likely without some serious help.

The accompanying article in today's Post has an interview with his trainer where they say he is still at 270 pounds, just more muscle and less fat. The whole thing is very strange, and Roker-esque, as stated above.

Lets not overlook chemical enhancements.  HGH is supposed to burn fat and promote muscle growth without much of a change in diet or exercise, and with a change in diet and exercise the effects could be substantial, I don't really know how much.

a 1990 New England Journal of Medicine study showed injections of synthetic HGH resulted in 8.8% gain in muscle mass and 14% loss in body fat without any change in diet or exercise.

Some studies since have cast doubt on this, but they don't really study HGH use in athletes who may be taking larger doses than prescribed to elderly people or couch potatoes.

I'd love to know why he is so desperately insisting he hasn't lost weight.

Naturally, Sabathia downplayed the weight loss while talking to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. "I'm actually the same weight as I was last year, just a little more toned and a lot more strong," he said. "This is the first offseason I was able to weight-train and get stronger and not worry about weight loss."

It has been implied in some places that CC's "heft" (while admittedly not good for his knees/back) is related to his fastball velocity, which I think is mostly, but perhaps not all, kind of a joke (Mark Lisanti's excellent "Jeter's Diary" series on Grantland makes light of this perception).  But of course he has both dropped weight the last couple years and his fastball velocity has ticked down each year.  Of course I would assume that is just age/innings related, but he seems touchy about the implication that less weight = less FB....
