Attack a little more purposeful tonight. CP first game in a while. I think they look okay with their leader in the MF out along with Gio.

Brooks’ passing has been the best offensive tactic of the half. But Brooks has got to cut out the needless fouls

Weston sigh, Dest injury sigh, post sigh, losing Davies sigh, Brooks fan on the top of the box the getting a yellow sigh. And yet still 0-0 and probably should be leading.

Need to make the most of their chances. Hopefully that post by Pulisic doesn't loom large.

They were having success on the wings hopefully they can keep that up with Yedlin and Robinson. Aaronson looks pretty decent as does Adams. Pefok a few nice touches. Other results not too bad but at some point you need a goal.

Pretty concerning. Not holding possession. Not carrying play, I meanI guess theyve had more chances. But it isnt convincing at all.
I mean they had 76% possession... Just weren't covering it into chances, and the chances into goals

Edit: also, I think we've seen some better work from Aaronson than on Thursday.

So Miles Robinson, Brendon Aaronson and maybe Perok have played well. I don’t mind Brooks but his lack of speed is always going to scare me.

This is pretty much what CONCACAF qualification looks like. I feel like maybe we get amnesia every four years and forget what the nature of the beast is.

I’m not blind to the erratic bits, but Dest was one of our better ball carriers that half and minus one absolute error, has done his part keeping Davies pretty damn quiet.

Turns out when you play him in his position, he knows where to go more often and dribbles into blind 3 on 1 alleys less often (not never though alas).

I didn’t watch the other night. I saw 1.7-0.3 expected goals on the road and I figured I should be encouraged. This is the opposite of encouraging. They’ve barely had a single respectable chance.

Easy question is whether people are happy to see Yedlin out there in his place. I have a hard time imagining that.

At home you win by multiple goals against the dregs
This is just never the way the final round goes. And Canada is not the dregs.

With a half left to play in match day two there have been just nine goals in the group and it is going to be like this for a year. Always is.

If you don’t win at home, how do you qualify?
Canada are not the dregs this cycle. We should win this damn game though, or ask a hell of a lot of questions.
One shot on goal in the half. I have questions

Does it feel like 76%? They string together 2-3 passes then turn it over it seems. Sometimes they get some stuff on the wings. But nothing seems to be linking.

then boom!! My comment looks stupid

It's awfully nice to have two elite 1v1 defenders in Adams and M. Robinson when Davies is on the other team.

Not sure if it was or if it was just a “let ‘em smash each other” CONCACAF call that worked out like a perfect advantage but I’ll take it either way.
I thought the ref made the advantage signal but I won't swear to it.
