Not a lot of quality either side yet in this game. US looking maybe better on offense but also more self-destructive on defense.
Of all the dumb Concacaf things, 2 red cards in 12 matches equaling a suspension is near the top of them
The way yellows can be handed out so arbitrarily, or based on the ref trying to calm a game down, or just plain not seeing the play right…it sucks.
Not a bad half. Game feels pretty even. Mexico had more chances but the US had the best one. Probably should be 1-0.
I only caught the last 10 minutes. They barely involved any soccer, which in Azteca is just fine. Between that and what I'm reading, that was a perfectly cromulent half.
Definitely showed that Gregg made the right call to go for the win here.
Mexico are honestly pretty crap - a dangerous front three but nothing beyond that.

If everybody got a yellow for that kind of casual shoulder to shoulder bump, every match would finish five on five.

Typical concacaf shithousery … mind you Kaye could easily have been off with a red on the first yellow which went to VAR. Really stupid by Kaye who should have known better.

Definitely stupid but the referee really should have looked at the VAR. He clearly didn't really see the original incident and that type of thing is usually either a red or nothing, so just check the VAR and try to get it right.
Kind of irrelevant though isn’t it? Canada shitting the bed against CRC is all that really matters now. USA still need 4 points no matter what.
