I did not go to offshore medical school, like @DaveRoberts'Shoes but if it's a hip flexor or pointer injury, Blount is probably done for the season.
Earlier in the thread DRS stated that a hip flexor or pointer would have Blount back by Miami. I'm assuming if that's accurate they'll hold him out until the playoffs as a precaution.

Just signed to the Jaguars practice squad.
Means nothing. He can be signed to our active roster while on the Jags practice squad. He just can't be signed to our practice squad. Only requirement from us is that he gets 3 weeks active roster pay regardless of how quick the Pats may cut him.

So if the Pats want a running back they could sign him today. I can't imagine the Pats actually want him if he was available to sign to our practice squad a few days ago.

Ummm... everything I saw says the Jags are signing him off the Dolphins practice squad. So he can't be on the Jags practice squad.

While I like the optimism I'm worried about it being a high ankle sprain. Those things linger. Having McCourty be less than 100% for a Pitt. game would be...bad.

So Blount is probably out until the playoffs.
Isn't that everyone now, in terms of skill players missing time?

I guess Chandler was healthy enough to play a single snap on Sunday, and James White was a healthy scratch (as opposed to injured scratch) earlier in the season.

Damn, of the post cutdown day roster that's right. White, Hooman, Harper, and Cadet are the only ones that didn't miss a game for injury and 75% of them are gone. Is Andrews the only OL not to miss a game as well? Cant remember if Fleming was injured for a game.

Excluding QBs, here's the breakdown of snaps, based on Reiss' weekly charting, & inactive data (through Week 14):

Andrews - played 72.3% of offensive snaps, active every game, but zero snaps wk 12 & 13
Mason - played 65.6% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 7 & 8
Cannon - played 47.3% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 7, 8 & 9
Jackson - played 47.0% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 9, 10 & 11
Stork - played 41.2% of offensive snaps, IR-DTR through wk 8
Fleming - played 35.0% of offensive snaps (incl. TE), active since week 7
Solder - played 24.5% of offensive snaps, IR after week 5
Wendell - played 1.4% of offensive snaps, activated for week 7, IR after week 8
Barker - played 0.4% of offensive snaps, active only week 10

Wide Receivers
Amendola - played 57.7% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 12
Edelman - played 56.0% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 11-14
LaFell - played 51.9% of offensive snaps, PUP wk 1-6
Martin - played 34.2% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 2, 7-11
Dobson - played 22.6% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 5 & 6, IR after wk 11
Harper - played 5.0% of offensive snaps, active for wk 1, 11 & 12
Slater - played 1.7% of offensive snaps (played offense wk 2,3,5,9,10 &14)
D.Johnson - played 0.3% of offensive snaps, signed before wk 13, inactive wk 14

Tight Ends
Gronkowski - played 82.2% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 13
Chandler - played 38.8% of offensive snaps, active every week (one snap wk 14)
Williams - played 36.1% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 12
Cleveland - played 3.5% of offensive snaps, signed from PS before wk 12
Hoomanawanui - played 2.5% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 3 & traded before next game

Running Backs
Blount - played 33.0% of offensive snaps, suspended wk 1, left game wk 14
Lewis - played 31.8% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 7, IR after wk 9
White - played 23.8% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 2 & 9
Bolden - played 12.7% of offensive snaps, inactive wk 7

Of all the guys who left the game Sunday, losing Blount bothers me the least.
Losing Blount bothers me more than Freeny and Easley. We have depth at those positions however relying on Bolden/White in a January playoff game with poor field conditions is a significant downgrade in our running game. We've utiltized our big backs under Belichick in these games over the years......not having him hurts a ton.

It's clearly time for Bill's ultimate troll job on other NFL teams. There is one and only one available running back whose hypothetical success as a patriot would make heads explode....

But more seriously, Mike Reiss always seems to track who the pats are working out for their emergency lists. I'm mobile so it's hard to search for his older posts but so far I've seen that Isaiah Pead and Boom Herron were worked out in November. Which proves nothing except to give us a picture of what the scrap heap looks like

I want Trent if for no other reason than to start him in a playoff game against Indy, have him get 100+ and a couple TDs, be named Player of the Game and show Grigson the effing door.

God fucking damnit. One of the best interior pass rushers in the league and he helped keep people fresh. I don't think this guy will ever be healthy.

Andy Hart works for the Pats, that he is crediting Jerry Thornton on this makes me wonder if this is real but we are in the twitter age.

Im a big proponent of the running backs that cant play in the passing game are largely fungible school of thought, and Blount wasn't great this year, but fuccccccck I do not want to test that theorem out in a playoff game with Brandon Bolden, feature back.

But Bolden can sort of kind of play in the passing game, so we're good?

While I've said that I'd like to see what James White can do with more consistent carries, at this point it feels more important to limit his exposure. I think they can survive okay without Blount but I'd hate to see them have to ride out the playoffs without any kind of dynamism in the backfield.

McCourty has a bad ankle sprain - back for Miami or the playoffs

Easley dinged up his knee, back for the Jets

Freeney broke something, back for the divisional round at the earliest

Blount has a hip pointer, back for Miami.

Someone track this and see how I do
LGBT and Easley are out for the year and Freeney's injury was a dislocation rather than a break, so I don't think DRS gets credit for that one either. But he nailed it on McCourty.

Do we know for sure about Freeny or DMC? At this point I'd say he's 0-2 in the top of the 6th.

Montee(dit) Ball, come on down.
He was signed to the PS so it seems like he's not the one that's going to be promoted...unless this is new information to the team.

This is where Bill turns Nate Ebner into a totally legit RB you can win a Super Bowl with. I'm not (completely) kidding. Whoever had that dream about him scoring TDs was just one week too early.

Why does the fact that Ball was signed to the ps necessarily mean that he's not the guy who will replace Blount? Isn't it possible that's just a roster housekeeping situation that could be resolved Saturday by signing him to the 53? I mean, they're not likely heading into the Titans game with just two RBs on the game day active.

I think this is exactly right. They haven't made a roster move yet with Blount so clearly there is a lot up in the air right now. One way or the other they will have at least 3 RBs active on Sunday.
