Fine, whatever, it's a quad, I've been drinking all night, what do you people want from me
For me this is easy. All I want is an instantaneous opinion (right or wrong), so I can spend the next few days saying "my guy says its a sprain and he'll be back in two weeks". The Pats are notorious for keeping real info close to the vest, so when the real news drops weeks from now the idiots I talk to have forgotten whether I'm right.

It's simple really, our boy is a medical badass, which pretty much makes me a medical badass (on Mondays anyway).

I'm guessing the key to bad medical advice is giving it to people who aren't your patients.

So, he's probably done for the regular season but would hopefully be ready for the Divisional Round.

What was this about? From Reiss, noting Andrews' 6 snaps:

Notes: The Patriots didn't adopt a rotation for the first time in ages, but Stork didn't finish. He explained after the game, with a smile, that his shoe gave out on him as he likes to wear the same pair of shoes until they go. That's why Andrews finished the game.

I assume Stork is joking about the shoes, and I didn't see a reason for him to get benched -- a minor tweak of some sort? Or...?

Not a joke -- Reiss wrote a longer piece on this, and apparently Stork legitimately had one of his shoes break and didn't want to start breaking in another one. One would assume if they weren't up by 21 points he wouldn't have sat out... Or he's lying.

I was at the game and this happened pretty close to where we were sitting. When he came off he was not wincing in pain or anything but kept looking at his feet/shoes. He walked very slowly to the sideline but it was not a limp. When he got to the bench he pulled the shoe off but there was no trainer or anything tending to him.

ok....thx, that's unusual, but I guess it was a blow-out, anyway.

I was at the game as well and it looked like his shoe came loose as he walked off the field. Don't think he's lying.

I'm guessing walking to the sideline with an equipment issue and up 21 points late in the 4th, it wasn't his choice to sit. Probably a directive from Bill to Josh to let Stork know his night is over and Andrews is going to clean it up was more likely what happened. Bill like's to practice that type of stuff in the preseason, sudden substitutions, so he likely took advantage of the issue to test Andrews and see if his focus had drifted in a blowout.

Did Stork's shoe break when Mercilus ran him the fuck over on the goal line?

EDIT: Which happened like 30 seconds after I called someone insane for ripping on Stork. GOOD TIMING YOU GIANT HOBO.

I mean, that's like saying that drunk Brady is better than Ryan Leaf. True, but so low a bar as to be virtually meaningless.
I think this is going to be an awesome offseason thread. How many pregame beers consumed by Brady would it take before you took Blaine Gabbert over Tom Brady?

A lot: http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/97767202/tom-bradys-will-to-win-chugging-ross-tucker

I still have never seen anybody chug a beer faster than Tom Brady. You should've seen the way he slammed down his cup -- it was like he was spiking the ball after a TD. It was hilarious. It was awesome. It was textbook Brady.

Man, Stork is a weird dude. The equipment guys have a pair of extra cleats for each guy in a trunk on the sidelines. All they had to do was give him his pair and he could have played.
I don't think the problem was that there was no extra pair, but that he hasn't broken them in. He said he always wears the same pair.

Exactly. And with our luck this year he would have gotten blisters that would have gotten infected and then likely needed an amputation.
PS - how god awful did those old shoes smell

This is a really good point. A little "sit yer ass down" for having a weird equipment thing in the middle of the game due to some kind of cleat OCD. But also a chance to practice some seat of the pants subbing in the interior llne. The punt from the Houston 35 in the 4th also looked like the same kind of prep work for a potential situation later on. Gost looked good from at least 55 in the dome last night.

So we're gonna see a pass heavy game plan the next two weeks. They probably would have been pass heavy against the Jets either way because of their DL - see the October game.
