Jones just isn’t an adequate NFL starter guys. I like the kid overall, but he’s not going to lead the Patriots anywhere now or anytime in the future unless the team around him is absolutely perfect. And I say that as someone that was VERY high on him when they drafted him.

He can’t run an offense at a high enough level to compete with the best quarterbacks and teams in the league. He doesn’t move or throw well, which means he has to be elite pre-snap and under pressure. And he just isn’t anywhere close to good enough in those departments either.

He’d be a quality backup. He’s more Colt McCoy than Kirk Cousins.
