I didn't see the game but Mallett put up some respectable numbers.  That team could very easily go 10-6 and sneak into a WC spot.  They play JAX twice and TEN at home, so that's 8-5 and then they just need to take two out of BAL, CIN, @IND.  The last will obviously be tough but those home games are very winnable.

Remains to be seen if Drew Stanton can consistently play this well.

He has a completion percentage below 50%. If this is what is defined as positive play for him, they've got some long-term issues.

He was told there would be no math

No, I was talking about his overall stats on the season. He's played in half their games now.

Gotta win tonight, we're probably not winning in Green Bay. Denver us some wiggle room today, though now maybe we gotta worry about KC?

Rodgers is playing great so it might not matter, but I think it's crazy what the defensive plan is.
They have been aggressive and bringing extra men, confusing the o-line and hitting the QB a lot. Today it's rush 4 and play coverage. That's the WEAKNESS of the team. It's insane.
Attack. If rodgers beats you, well plus ca change eh.

Green Bay's remaining road games are at Minnesota, Buffalo and Tampa Bay

They've got no real competition in the conference either, provided they stay healthy. I think Romo is basically broken at this point, Cardinals we've discussed...who's left?

You understand that not everyone is as dismissive of Arizona as you are, right?

That said, I wonder how the Pats games against the Lions and Packers will impact that division

Meh. I still think the Niners or Seattle end up winning the NFC.

They'll come around.

Niners I could possibly see, but what is there to suggest that Seattle can win 2-3 road games against quality opponents?

Have you looked at the standings?  There's a good chance neither of those teams will make the playoffs.

How can you see the Niners?

edit - just to edit, Eli threw FIVE interceptions today and they still almost won.

They've been in the mix the past 3-4 years. Willis is a big loss, but I think it's a team that could pick up its play and win some tough games on the road. They've still got some talent on defense, and a ton of weapons on offense, though Kaepernick is certainly inconsistent. If he's on one of his good streaks, they'll be a tough out, if they make it in (I think they probably will).

Mostly pedigree, but both teams have defenses that can dominate. Both teams have also destroyed Green Bay a few times pretty recently.

It looks right now that only one of Seattle or SF will make the playoffs, but whoever does will be a tough out.

You should look at the injuries and schedules. Both teams are being destroyed by injury

No doubt about Seattle being destroyed by injuries. Willis is a huge loss, but they are pretty healthy on offense (guaranteed kiss of death there), and getting Aldon Smith back is huge. The Niners can run the ball, and stop the run. If Kaepernick doesn't turn the ball over, I'm thinking they go 10-6 and get in. Then all bets are off.

I agree with you. I just think the Niners are the better of the two teams, especially with the injuries Seattle is taking.

Gore is done. Although I'm judging that based on their refusal to use him more than my eyes. Their rushing stats are as much from Kaep as anyone, and they are the worst red zone team in the league. I see no evidence of good offensive team.

I think so too, but as long as Wilson and Lynch are healthy, I'd expect them to beat Arizona and the Niners at least once each.
