Speaking of the league ruining games (kind of) when did they implement instant replay into games? I seem to recall late 90’s obviously it was there for the tuck rule in 2001 playoffs. The reason I ask is I was watching highlights of the bills giants super bowl in 1991(I think that was the year). Any way in the highlights the refs actually went to instant replay for a catch review on the bills final drive. I had no recollection at the time as I was only 7 years old. Replay wasn’t instituted at that time was it? Maybe only for playoff games?? What’s the answer?

Met in 1979 too same result. Weird comment

ED- Al talked about Pittsburgh and Baltimore being great sports towns and that Pirates beat Orioles in 7 games in the 1971 World Series.

If #18 made the slightest effort to block there for Steelers, Claypool gets a TD.

edit: that’s Diontae Johnson… and then he gets one himself. Terrible job by NFL karma gods.

They really need to stop calling PI on balls that are that underthrown

God damn, that flag against the Steelers is tough.

These long passes that are way way short that always turn into PI are really a problem.

I can't imagine a way to not penalize defenses for running through underthrown passes, but getting rid of the spot foul seems like a no-brainer to me. College has defensive PI as a spot foul only up to 15 yards, which may start to shift the risk/reward of these deep passes. For the life of me I don't get why ticky tack 40 yard penalties are allowed.
