You really do need to know a bit more about officiating mechanics. It is absolutely the job of the Back Judge to make that call while the linesman stays on the spot. Their mechanics were spot on and they got the call right. All 8 sets of eyes are not focused on the same thing. They have different responsibilities. Its like the folks who criticize the Referee simply because he announces the call.
