I don’t know how people think Belichick will survive this. It seemed pretty clear that Kraft was expecting much more this season. The whole dumb Brady ceremony in the summer potentially makes things challenging, but I can’t imagine he’s as confident in Bill as he was a few years ago.

Seems like the 80s are back big for Boston fans.
Yeah, I can't believe I am actually looking forward to the Celtics preseason game tonight. The Bruins seem to have slid into "make the playoffs but not enough to win" slot, and the Red Sox are a softball team with plenty of offense, but a pitching staff that couldn't hit a cow's ass with a handful of rice.

I’m sure Kraft would love for Bill to break Shula’s record as our HC. But if this season crashes and burns like it appears it’s going to, then he’s *at least* 2 years away from that. If not 3!

I think he’ll still get next year.

So much pressure on the Celtics. I f they don't win, I fear it's going to be a looong time until another championship for Boston fans.

Just saw a young Pats coach with a visor on the sideline and for a split second got excited for whatever fresh ideas he has to offer in this trying time. I imagine he’s been working hard, putting in the time after hours, just waiting for his opportunity to contribute - for that moment he gets Bill’s ear. A rising talent, a future coaching star just busting his ass for that chance. Bill asks for ideas in the post-game meeting and nobody says anything. Just pure defeat and silence. And then, the awkwardness hanging in the air, this guy shoots his shot. His voice cracking, he says something that makes Bill stop in his tracks. Bill nods, and moves on. But later, the kid gets a text. Bill invites him to his office where they break down film. They stay up until 2. There’s something there. Maybe this is the start of something.

But he’s probably just the guy who keeps the walkie talkies working.

I think Belichick as a GM is more on trial than as a coach. Discipline issues abound, but the personnel they’re putting out there aren’t giving them a chance even minus the mistakes

Either the ship rights itself and the question answers itself, or we’re sitting on a top 5 pick and Kraft will need to decide how it gets made, and whether he’d accept the potential for multiple trades down to acquire an abundance of the kind of personnel we’ve already got on the field today.
